Have a PA 30mm red dot on mine. Got on sale for $69.99 I think. It is definitely not high end but it's definitely worth more than it's price - other words, a great value for the price. Believe me, it takes your plinking to whole another level.

More than happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend (in fact, it was recommended to me). Save the higher-end optics for your .223/.556 rig.

It depends on what you want to do with it. I put a Weaver V3 1-3x20 on mine because I bought the rifle as a training stand-in for my 6.8SPC with a Burris XTR 1-4x24. A Nikon P22 2-7x32 would be a pretty good tacticool looking choice.

Weaver V3 1-3x20 in a Burris quick release P.E.P.R. mount.

I too have a Nikon 2-7x32 Nikon P-22 with Nikon P-223 Mount. Its an awesome scope its Nikon Quality Glass and clarity is awesome. Its not fancy with red dots and batteries and things you don't need. Its old school... It gives you the ability to sight it in and hit what's in the cross hairs they also have an awesome app for iOS or Android so you can do the ballistics on your phone with almost any ammo. I purchased the old school cross hairs Nikoplex but they have a BDC 150 if you want to be more modern. [Disclaimer: I'm not as young as I act]

Lens Covers:

Butler Creek 19-20 Objective Multiflex Flip-Open Scope Cover [Actually Eye Piece but Amazon listed it wrong]

Butler Creek 20-21 Objective Multiflex Flip-Open Scope Cover

All my .22lr and .17HMR rifles wear Weaver (3) and Vortex Scopes (2). Most of the optics cost as much or more than the rifles. Its all about precision, the caliber doesn't matter. I don't plink, don't hunt, only shoot bug hole groups.

OP: For a good, small, reasonably priced 3MOA red dot the Bushnell TRS-25 is hard to beat.

Went to the range today with my daughter, her boy friend and his two friends. He brought his M & P 15-22 with a Sun Optics 4x Prismatic with a tactical reticle that he just had installed. It was shooting high left after the store had "bore sighted" it. He and my daughter tried moving it one or two clicks. After seeing their target I move it 16 clicks right and 16 down, 1/4 moa. After a 5 round test I moved 2 clicks up. Good to go. Gave the gun back to them and they started hitting center X. I was impressed by the scope and really liked the reticle. Its also has IR. He paid $120.00 for it. May consider it for my AMD 65.
