Last time I showed up for the GSSF match, they told me it was cancelled. I called the day before and they said it was on. I might go.

At least I won't have to worry about you accidentally (purposely) putting one in the "C-Zone" for me.

I just got back from this mornings GSSF shoot! My first real competition ever and I have a lot of work to do! I only get to shoot several times a year lately... and I now know I need to really work on my trigger pull!

I was a 413 (I believe) and most shots were 2-3" low (even at 12ft), so I must anticipating recoil and pointing nose down at the last minute. I'm not jerking the trigger, as I spent time between rounds practicing and specifically pulling trigger slowly and smoothly.

I need to work on dry fires with an empty shell casing sitting on top of my front sight according to RO...

Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

I think so. The way I added it up, it should be a 478, but we'll see. The best was 498, so have some practicing to do if I want a chance at the plaque in month 3.

I plan on doing Norco in April, but first on the list is Yolo (03-16/17).

You must have been the guy with the calguns tag on your range bag, CGN shirt, and CGN Zombie pin?

Nice shooting... much better than I was. But from your sig, Im not so embarrassed about my 413... I am not an NRA Instructor or RSO! LOL!

Hopefully after practice I can get much closer to your score next time!

I shoot fairly often with this great NRA Certified Instructor which helps. The only thing I can't master as well as him is shooting hostages (No Shoots). It's a good thing that is not a requirement in Indoor GSSF!

HaHaHa... Yea, that was me. It was nice meeting you, and I am sure we'll run into each other at the matches in April, and May. A 413 is good for your first time out, the only advice I'd give is to practice shooting at 50 and 75 feet as that's where the points are lost IMHO.

Nice meeting you too...

I'm not sure if I will make the April LAX match as I really want to go to the outdoor GSSF that same weekend at Norco! <-- surprised that LAX didnt catch that!

I admit I need practice at all distances, but for now I'm going to focus on grip and trigger pull when I practice. I was consistently low, so I think I was gripping too lightly with my support hand and anticipating recoil as well. I'm also going to perform dry fire drills every day or so!

20 years ago I was a much better shooter... Now I need to practice to get it back! Hell... 20 years ago I was pretty much better at everything! LOL!

Reminds me of an old saying:

The older I get, the better I used to be!

Chad:

I got an email from Nolan last night, after I asked the same thing. He said the girls normally do it the week after, but they have been swamped with online orders for ammo. <-- Familiar story everywhere these day!

He was going to have them post it today, but apparently they didn't get-r-done!! Maybe if you email him too...? PM me if you don't have his email and I will send it to ya!

I was at LAX last night for the LA Chapter Monthly Shoot and was pretty much told the same thing. Hopefully it gets out before the next match in the series.

They got it up today!!! I guess I misremembered my score... I was a little lower than what I thought they told me!

Next time I'm going to take a photo of my D1 before I turn it in. I wish I could find a range locally where I could get a little coaching. I'm out in the Riverside/San Bernardino area (Inland Empire). Know of any?

Johnny Vo the man to beat again!

I'll try to get out there for the next one as my first shoot otherwise it'll have to be next year although it's always nice to score a perfect 500 even if you can't make it to two out of three matches per rules.

LOL, I was 14th if it makes you feel any better. I thought you were in the 480s or 90s.

That's exactly what I did on Saturday, and they added mine up wrong. I sent a picture of the target to Nolan and they rescored all of the Saturday targets. He said they weren't sure what happened, but mine was the only one that was wrong.

I'll be at Noroc on the 6th for GSSF, and then LAX on the 7th for GSSF.

That's a nice back to back marksmanship training competition.

Unless I go to the Falcon Pistol 1.5+2.0 that weekend or just the Sunday 2.0.

I wonder if I can squeeze in both LAX indoor and Norco outdoors on Saturday. Could be done! Tempting...

It will be nothing if you do what you're planning to do. Speaking of which, I'm off to shoot Yolo tomorrow!

It should be easy to do for me as long as there is still ammo available.

I'd say you'd place rather well if you accomplished your mission for the day.

Yea, back to back matches on a weekend are tough especially when they're geographically spread out. The make for an even tougher Monday though...

Who is going this weekend for round 2???

I'm going to go for the double GSSF weekend... LAX Range GSSF Tourney Saturday morning and Norco GSSF on Sunday... hell maybe Saturday after LAX!

Any others?
