Is there going to be enough ammo to hold this event ?
I think a few years ago they ran out of ammo on the first day.

I recall there was an entrance fee ($15 this year)

If you want to shoot the guns, you got to pay for the ammo. Prices depend on the vendor.

I've had a good time there over the years, and won the NRA door prize once.

I expect this one to be a zoo though.

Gun show--Sat, Sun. Shooting Sports Fair--Fri, Sat, Sun. Shoot a bunch of guns at the Shooting Fair on Friday and then spend the rest of your weekend at the gun show shopping for car chamois, 99-cent tools, imported strobe flashlights, stuffed animals, polished rocks, ladies jewelry, popcorn, Star Wars toys, "Beware of Potbellied Pig" yard signs, remote-controlled helicopters, and belt buckles. Conflict solved. You're welcome.

You should have bought them at the Expo and saved some money. There was a CalGuns discount coupon for IIRC 20% off weapons purchased at the show.

There is a parking fee ($5 I believe) an entrance fee ($15 this year) and shooting in past years was $1 or $2 per weapon (5/6rds centerfire-10rds rimfire), not including the demo guns like the 1919 and Gatling guns which cost quite a bit more.

If they stick to previous format, you can fire two weapons per trip through the line.

In years past there have been discount coupons for entry on the flyer but I haven't found any so far this year.

Unlike in past years we won't have a our own shooting booth, but we will be partnering with Calguns, NRA-MC, CRPA and Appleseed with a kid's 10/22 shooting booth as we did last year.

As we have for 10+ years, it will still cost just $1 for 10 rds for the kids to shoot.

As for the major vendors- being that they didn't buy their ammo from gun shows, their neighbor or other folks with patch over one eye and a cutlass in their hand- - the price for shooting a few rounds should be pretty close to last year.

I've enjoyed going to this event year after year. Looking at the flyer this year, I don't see any big name guys (i.e. Rob Leatham, Jerry Miculek) doing demonstrations this year. No Turners own shooting booth. It seem like it's a smaller show than previous years. Besides that, higher ticket price with NO coupons really makes me ponder if I should attend the event this year...or maybe I will go to the OC gun show instead, ah well...

It wasn't too crowded Friday.
Cost to shoot varied:
Colt $2 for 6 shots (.223)
LMT $3 for 6 shots (.223)
LMT $3 for 3 shots (.308)
Beretta $3 for 6 shots (9mm)
Ruger $3 for 5 shots (.223; can't remember)

Smile I went!!

So yes, I still decided to go after all and I am glad I did. Like I said, no big name demos and I didn't go to any seminars. Most of the major manufacturers are there. Turners still have their A/C tent. WOLF ammo with various calibers for sale. Few selections of AR style rifles, even 10/30 magazines for $25.

Smith & Wesson got the longest line, followed by Ruger(1 line for Handguns, 1 line for Long guns) at the main show area. I didn't see GLOCK or Springfield at first but found out that they each have their own barn at the back, alongside with steel shoots, .50 Cal & guns from WWI & WWII.

Ammo price varies but I think they are fair during this crazy time. Ruger charges $2 for 2 rounds of .308 or 30-06, and 10 rounds of .22.

If you fill out the form for Turner's mailing list you get a ticket for drawing to win prizes (a few drawings throughout the day, must be present to win)
If you plan on going, bring lots of $$, plenty of H2O and enjoy a nice day out.

My cousin and I went today. Checked out everything. Was a bit disappointed that there weren't really any accessories... only guns. I was hoping to get some show prices for my Beretta, but nothing

Shot a 30-06 Ruger. Also shot the .50 cal machine gun. $20 for that. I wanted to shoot the Barret light .50, but line was long and didn't want to hand over $15 for it (And I hadn't been to the Beretta booth yet)

"Robot" thing was kind of lame, but w/e

Here's a vid of me shooting the .50

Just got home, turners tent out of all ammo and pmags. Shot the lmt mws, very nice. Lines were not too bad, alot of Cal guns folks there, my two little boys loved it. Thanks volunteer Cal gunners for giving my boys a great day. I've been going to this show since mid 80s, im keeping the tradition going. I wish they still gave away BB guns to first 50 kids like they used to.

It is a SCREAMING deal compared to renting a multitude of guns at a local range to try them out.

I have been several times over the years but didn't go this time as I am currently not in the market for anything and am saving my money for a cross-country ammo buying spree this month. Actually I am driving to Ft Benning to watch my grandson graduate from Infantry Training and visiting my son in Texas along the way.

no way to know. depends on how deep Turners sold them and how fast the distributors can supply them.

you can't even look at past shows to see how they worked out due to the differences in the market from one year to the next.

thanks for the input. I know this is unsure times, but the professional way to handle a sell wound be to educate all employee's in the process and let customers know it might take a month to receive your gun. If I was told this upfront I would have purchased one in stock at a different store, as they are not that hard to find at this time.

gunut
I'm not sure you 'bought'. To buy, you need to have the gun there, with serial number.
I think what you mean is that you 'put in an order'.
Kind of like ordering a factory made car from a dealer. When the factory gets around to making the car, and shipping it out to the dealer, you get it.
Those are the things you should ask and research before you buy.
Last year I was looking for a gun, and went around to several Turner's looking for stock, and called the other stores.
No one had any and one told me they were sold at least six months in advance.
I searched elsewhere and found one in stock, in Ohio. I called and it was shipped out the same day.
For some products there is such a great demand. And a limited supply. And the demand for guns in the last 5 years has been greater than ever.
