I impulse bought an M4 during the o gun scare. It was literally the only semi auto firearm in the store that day. So I said, WTF.

It’s now my favorite shotgun. Most of my shotguns are benelli. While parts can be slow to obtain, I’ve been given most excellent service. Example;

I bought a used R1. The previous owner had damaged the tacky fore stock. Probably used a harsh cleaner of some kind. I called cs to see if the finish could be restored. They said nope. But they sent me an entire new stock set including a new limb saver butt pad for free! The butt pad alone sells for $100 or so. The extra pad now sits in my nova.

Couldn’t be happier. So yes, I’d buy again.

Since you're already thinking about it, don't settle for anything less or you will always have it playing in the back of your mind. "What if"

[QUOTE=DrewN;24320442]If I was pulling down those big contractor dollars, sure. For recreational use, my old 121M1 scratches my Benelli itch just fine and looks 10x better doing it.

M121 coming out of the woodwork, i love it.

Dang, that 121M1 looks great! Still, when I think of a gun I am going to throw around and bang up...I picture an M4 lol. The only thing is that the Benelli H2O is the only one I have seen available.

The Benelli M4 was my first gun purchase and was the easiest choice ever. I had the opportunity to shoot the M4 while I was in the Marines and there is a reason why it is still use till this day by our service members. People are skeptical about paying the premium but after spending the $, it makes all my other gun purchase decision easier to make.
How I Run my m4:
-Carrier comp titanium 7 round mag tube w/ U.S. follower
-Wolff Spring
-Freedom Fighter Tactical Trigger kit
-922r compliant
-Pinned C-Stock

Thinking about purchasing a benelli m4 or a fn slp. I like that the fn is shorter and has a larger magazine capacity with the 18 inch barrel model

I debated between M4 and SRM1216... not even remotely similar- other than price..

I ended up with an SRM in FDE - but will eventually get an M4 too... gotta stop buying guitars first

Yeah, I hoping to buy the M4 but just not completely won over by the H2O which is all I can find lately. I was wanting a 1014 even though it has to have the fixed stock. I know it’s the same platform, but black is just so sexy in a full semi auto mall ninja tactifool sorta way.

That's right, I do have a decked out 1301Tac & a nicely set up 1301Comp ALL for the same price as a Benelli M4! I feel great about it, again I will put either one up against an M4 with no hesitation. Not saying the M4 isn't an awesome Combat 12ga., just don't think it's gonna do anything any better than my Beretta's

M4 was the first long gun I've purchased that just fit when shouldered straight out of the box. And then I shot it. Keeper.

I think the H20 is super cool looking too. And you don't see a ton of them...at least I don't. I'd love to have one.

Yeah...it’s been a long time coming, but I used that time to do plenty of research and am confident it is the best choice for me. It’ll be on layaway for a while, but that’s ok.

You won't regret it. By once cry once. I don't know about now, but before the pandemic, there were good deals on the calguns market place for benelli m4s.

I didn't. I had never owned nor fired a shotgun and the M4 seemed to be the best. I can tell you that it makes you a better shooter. I had only fired a few rounds when I took it to FrontSight for a 4 day class. There were only 2 M4's in the group class and we both made DG. Only 1 other person was able to and he was a longtime instructor just taking the class for fun. He was a real shooter and could probably have made DG with a single shot.

I was able to do the drill where you shoot 5 knockdown targets in 1.89 seconds. The instructors were suitably impressed, but I know it was 99% the gun and 1% me.

I can't even find an M4 for sale.. seems all the retailers are sold out (atleast in the SF bay area). If you see one for sale just buy it then figure out if you want to keep it. If I ever see one pop up for sale I'm buying one!

A couple popped up here on calguns, one is a 1014 but too far south, the other is in San Joaquin somewhere but it’s not for me. I will go back through my search history where I had found one online retailer whose inventory showed 4 H2O’s in stock. Gunbroker is where I think I will end up buying mine from...special order is out of the question at the local shops.

I went with the Benelli M2. If it’s good enough for the top 3 gun competitors it’s good enough for me. SBE 2 for hunting. I did just overpay for a Remington 870 Express NIB today on GunBroker. Needed the truck thrasher, kid loaner, don’t care if it get stolen being left in the truck while hunting/fishing shotgun.

All this talk about semi auto this or that, but no one mentions the first one which is still one of the best and in many ways far superior to anything else on the market.
Browning A5 !!!

My gun is a 1963 model which was the first year for the Two Piece Cartridge lifter and the Speed Feed feature. I have $600 in this gun and it has proven to be much faster than any Benelli or Beretta. Also it doesn't stop when it gas system gets dirty because it doesn't have one. It is easy to work on and in the unlikely event that something breaks which will probably never happen I can fix it anywhere with parts sourced from Ebay or my local gun shop. It is all mechanical !

As set up in the above picture with the Smooth Bore Barrel and Extended Magazine it is 7+1 and faster to load and fire than any other gun I have been near in 5 classes at Front Sight. OK, I can't Quad Load it, but I can single load it pretty fast.

There is one drill where you start with an empty gun, load one and fire , load another and fire, and then finish with a loaded gun. I am done before virtually anyone else on the line has fired their second shot! Not just once but every time.

Set up with the Rifled Barrel it is a formidable Hunting Weapon which is super powerful and accurate. And once again faster to load and fire than anything else.

And as far as accuracy goes it is "Rifle Accurate !!!"

So why is everyone all worked up about a $2500 gun when there are alternatives that you can get for 1/4 the cost that are far superior in every way?

My .02

Randy

I like the Browning. I have a '60s A5, and also have a Savage 720.
If we had to parallel those with cars, I guess it would be like a big block Chevelle wagon. It's big and old, but still fast.
I was thinking of cats today, one of our new sales guys has a SPAS 12. One of the other guys was all nuts over it. I said it's like an '80s Corvette. Cool at the time, but there are so many better choices now.

There is one big problem with M4s. Designers hate the lefties.
