Papers to keep vs toss
This really needs to be in the FAQ and I am not the expert. What do I actually need to log and file? Here is what I am keeping now which may be overkill.
And should I keep multiple files, because right now, everything is going in date order in one huge file. DROS:
And when I log FFL in/out I log all the digits -- do I need to? Thanks! Last edited by ronlglock; 05-28-2020 at 1:50 PM.. |

I separate State vs Fed documents as they don't need to see each other's stuff and during an audit you'll have to separate them anyway. If your number of transactions is small it may be a non issue. As far as keep/toss, these I toss:
DROS: (toss this whole bucket after 3 years except 4473) PPT: (toss this whole bucket after 3 years except 4473) And when I log FFL in/out I log all the digits -- do I need to? -- I log 1st 3 last 5.

All of these I only have as part of the DROS and they need to say with it for audit purposes.
