Random question for Navy vets,
Calgunners, I am sitting here trying to remember the Golden Gate picture that was located at the entrance to the mess hall I was assigned to at boot camp. I remember every day marching in and getting to see a lil piece of home. Haha, it's amazing where we get our daily dose of motivation. I remember it was a side shot of the Golden Gate with fog rolling in. Anyone recall more details or actually have a name for the photographer?

I was at SanDiego in 66 that is 1966 not 1866 for you wise guys. I remember yellow foot steps painted and I can tell you how many stainless eating trays I washed. I can tell you what happens when you leave 50 pounds of potatoes in a peeler and you get new potatoes about the size of a quarter. I can tell you about the uss recruit.
Sure don't remember a picture of the bridge. Sorry;-( |

Yeah, I was San Diego in 1980, no golden gates there, just a bunch of smelly recruits and crappy but hot food. I remember most the waiting on the grinder in our company trying to get in and get your 5 to 10 minutes of eating. Our damm CC was forever bringing us late so we had to wait behind a bunch of other companies. Damm sadist. But at least in SD we didn't have snow watches!
