Default Should I buy a Sig P220 Combat

Was at the local gun store and there it was. A Sig Sauer P220 Combat and I became a kid again just like in 1974 when I first saw the Crossman M1 Carbine BB Gun at Karls Toys. I couldn't stop thinking about it but It cost $1099.00 + tax and deros. The automatic brake in my head came on and I had to stop and think. $1099, Whew that's some cash. I'm wondering whether or not it's worth dropping that kind of coin for a 37 year old design. A plain ole vanilla p220 goes for about $900 - 950. So I'm putting it out there to you who probably know more about this than I do. Should I or shouldn't I get the Sig Sauer P220 Combat?.

Thanks

Yes if you like the way it feels in the hand! And if you don't you'll spend more money buying other pistols

It's a cool looking pistol, but I've heard that the 1913 Rail might make it hard to find holsters that fit the rail. If it's just going to be a range toy, go for it.

Why buy a P220 Combat for $1,099 when someone will sell you a mid-1990s P220 for $600?

Man, that was alot of years ago, I think my mom got rid of it because she didn't like guns even a BB gun after I left home and joined the Air Force. Wish I had that thing now, probably worth some money. It had a genuine walnut stock and you had to pump the barrel to cock it and you could store BBs in the fake 10 round carbine magazine with the plastic cap on top that slid off. I don't think I ever saw any rust on the barrel. I liked to play Lt Hanley, The squad leader on that old TV show "Combat" He always carried a M1 Carbine

Nice SA collection, you know I'm working on my CZ collection. In fact I secured a matt stainless 75b to go along with my high polish. This thread reminds me I'm not done buying. I need at least one railed Springfield 1911 and a P226 stainless elite or combat. OP get that combat!

Lol, it's not the kitchen granite so food won't have the flavor of gun powder residue. As long as it's not someone else's azz I guess she won't care.

So do I, I record every episode. The first 3 seasons had the best content in my opinion. They tried to tell it like it was for the WW2 grunt honestly, at least as much as they could in the early/mid 1960s (No profanity, heads getting blown off) When they went color in the 1966/67 season It took something away as far as the gritty realism IMO but it's still is an authoritative war drama TV series because it was produced written and directed by veterans and they got a lot of support from the Department of the Army (Real tanks and other gear) Being an Air Force Vet 12 o'clock high is also the bomb (almost literally) Real B-17s and excellent drama. I was stationed at one of the old WW2 bomber bases in England. RAF Lakenheath so it's sort of personal to me.

Default Well I'm doing it. I'm getting the Sig P220 Combat

Yep, I did it, I put it on layaway at the local gun store. Put $300 down on it to hold it, I'll get my $530 back from Buds Gun Store.com were I had a XD 45acp Tactical on layaway and use that toward paying off the P220. I put the XD on layaway back in December and paid if off before the 90 day limit but they called me and told me they didn't have any in stock and it looks like they won't be getting any more anytime soon which pissed me off. I expected that they would physically put the gun away for me until I finished paying off the layaway but they took my money with the idea that they would have the gun by the time the 90 days was up but they don't and that's bull**** so needless to say, that's the last time I'll be doing business with them, and I've heard a lot of negative reviews about them over the Internet. Anyway I like buying firearms locally were you can physically see what your buying. I think $1099 + tax -deros is a fair price for this particular make/model. The manufacturer MSRP is $1,218.00 on the Sigarms.com website http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProdu...20-combat.aspx and I don't have to go through the hassels of shipping and FFL transfer fees and possibly not getting the firearm I ordered which seems to happen a lot with Budsgunshop.com so I've been told by the local gun store which has done a lot of FFL transfers from them, I've already seen and touched the gun I'm buying so there's no mystery involved. So now I've got 60 days to pay it off and I know I'll be paying it off early so I can get that puppy out to the range. I'm going to the the Crossroads of the West gun show tomorrow at the Orange county fairgrounds Costa Mesa CA to make sure there isn't one at a better price there, good thing is, I can cancel the layaway at this gun store and not pay any penalties so long as the gun is not DEROSED (Dealer Record of Sale) within the the layaway period. if I find a better deal so I think that I can't lose on this one.

My P226 is the best 9mm semi I've ever owned and it is also the most accurate, totally stock, no mods, in my less than skilled hands. Now I want a P226 Mk 25!

Whoops. I forgot. I can't have a P226 Mk 25 unless I do the SSE nonsense. I'll settle for a P226 Navy, though.

The one I'm getting comes with only 1 10 round extended mag. I heard somewhere that it's supposed to come with a 10 and 7 round magazine. Can you verify this. How many and what capacity round magazines come with the Sig Sauer P220 Combat. Sig Item Number 220-45-CP-DS

Mine came brand new and it had two mags. One 8 rnd and the other a extended 10 rnd mag. Both mags were stainless steel. If you get he black mags it might be a 7 rounder but I'm not sure..
