The lady and I bought Ruger Mark III pistols, she like the 22/45 better with matching red dot sights and they are the most fun guns we own.

Update to my original post. Made some changes and additions.
Found a set of grips that I liked better for my 59 year old High Standard Supermatic. Picked up a nice pair of wood grips for my 617.

Bought 2 beautiful Smith & Wessons the last couple years. An unfired 17 and nice 18.

My collection:

L-R, 1976 Ruger Single-Six Convertible with Ruger grips and fiber-optic sights, Ruger SP101, Ruger 22/45 with replaceable handgrip modification, fiber-optic sights and Volquartson internals. All are super accurate, the 22/45 is a tack driver (and, oh, that trigger).

Thanks! They are Volquartsen's Laminate Target Grips, the internals are Volquartsen's match/competition kit. Shoots ridiculously well!

The rail is by Weigand, I just have to throw on a Burris FastFire or Trij RMR, and I'll be all set!

I have the same gun with Volthanes and a similar rail that dovetails into the rear site location, but not quite as long past the ejection port, and it is squared off. I like the slope of that Weigland.

My ancient Volthanes got tacky (rubber aged) so I have some Hogues incoming. Great gun.

What brand is the rail you put on yours? And what kind of red dot did you end up mounting on yours?

Ya I picked up a set of the Volthanes as well, but once I got the Laminate Target grips, I sold the Volthanes with a 1978 Ruger Mark 1 I ended up letting go.
