Default Hand guns with threaded barrels?

I fail to understand the reasoning behind the regulation over threaded barrels on hand guns.

An AR15 hand gun has a threaded barrel, with the mag lock it is not an "assault weapon".

But a semi automatic hand gun with a threaded barrel is?

How is a threaded barrel more or less dangerous than its non-threaded cousin?

I know preaching to choir here but it just strikes me as insane to attempt to understand any reasonable justification behind the law itself....

Blame hollywood giving Cali Pols the idea that any handgun with threaded barrel can be deadly silent killer with some pipe fittings, soda can and duct tape.

You don't understand because you are logically thinking about it. Something our political "leaders" have absolutely no concept of.

Because semi auto pistol with threaded barrel is trademark of Hollywood action movies. They don't want regular joe to infringe their trade mark.

An AR-15 handgun is a semi automatic handgun. A 1911, glock 17, whatever, can have a threaded barrel if you have a mag lock.

Why are they illegal? Well, because suppressors are dangerou... wait those are already illegal. Because flash hiders are... wait that's not a assault weapon feature on a handgun and you could just pin and weld it anyway so the threads wouldn't matter.

Don't try to apply reasoning to anti gun laws, there isn't any.

First, let's start by stating that threaded barrel on all handguns in CA are legal except for semi auto pistols with detachable magazines. Now, why was that category of handguns targeted by CA AW laws? Think Hollywood, the fear of the unknown (laws written by those who don't have a clue) and the simple fact that a suppressor could be quickly threaded onto a handgun. Let's forget the fact that suppressors are generally illegal in CA in the first place.

Now, can you explain to me why pistol grips are not allowed on certain long guns in CA? This is a problem for one armed shooters and there really should be an ADA lawsuit filed against the state.

Well, if pistol grips were ever used by ninjas, that might be why. We know that CA banned shuriken, nunchucks, and blowguns to put an end to the ninja attacks.

Lol but guys, we all know that simply attaching a suppressor to a pistol effectively silences it - that's what movies and video games taught me!

But surpressors are already illegal for most people in CA. If surpressors are truly what those who don't know anything about the laws they are writing are scared of, why make a law against threaded barrels on only some handguns and not all of them?

No, that's already covered by being illegal to carry a concealed fixed blade. Ninjas are always concealed.

Talking

Wait, there it is again.

More nothing.

I didn't hear anything.

Exactly, somebody has a silencer!

All we have to do now is dispatch swat teams to the quietest places in California to stamp out this scourge. We shall start with the monasteries.

I don't know why you're worried about the silencer. I'd be more worried about the 3 ninjas in the room behind you while you're posting on the forum.
