Yeah I paid for 2 with PayPal on the 28 at 8pm and still haven't been given a tracking number. I am patiently waiting since my Paypal says the payment has been completed and I am just hoping that it due to the holidays.

We just went through the 2 day weekend and now its New Years Eve and tomorrow everything is shut down. It'll be Wednesday before anybody gets moving around again.
Last week he barely had 1,000 hits for his add.....tonight he is pushing over 11,000. Just saying.....other people need to live a little to. |

I just checked out my lower pieces I picked up from Rohg, and a few of my Pmags fit in there just fine and slides perfectly with very little play. No filing needed on mine. BUT, I did notice that the mag must go in straight up into the lower for it to feed and seat properly. With my TM lower, it feels like I have a bit more flexibility if I throw in my Pmag as a slight angle. I do agree that the underside of the trigger area is rough looking with that seam there, but since my pieces are already anodized and it's not noticeable once a trigger and trigger guard are in place, I'm not going to worry about it. IMO, the finish on my are actually pretty good, similar to the Mega lowers. Although I haven't put them through any abuse yet so I can't say how they'll hold up. But I personally like the low-gloss finish & look over the matte black finish & look on my TM lower. The thing one thing that the guy didn't mention, that I did a few posts back, was that the front trigger guard screw hole is not tapped & threaded on the 80% piece. Therefore, you'll need to drill and tap the hole with a small die that has the same thread size & pitch as the screws used in the LPK's, if you want it done right. I'm not arguing with the other poster as I can see what he's talking about, but overall I'm satisfied for the most part with what I received. The true test will be after I mill it and see how everything fits together, and how the finish stands up to some minor abuse. |

Ok I checked out my single lower I received from Rohg. There is a very visible seam under by the trigger area. Something I don't see on any of my other lowers.
Does this bother me? ummmm to be honest this is to build a 7th or 8th lower..not my 'go to' weapon. I expect it to preform as well as any of my basic ar's. If this was going to be my only AR and I cared about looks as well, might bother me a bit, but it's not, so it doesn't. I threw a mag into it...it doesn't drop out for me like it does from my other lowers/rifles. So a little filing may need to be done. Once again if it was my only ar, I would care more. A little filing doesn't bother me. In this market right now....it is perfectly acceptable to me. I would take all those flaws on any of my other rifles....if I could legally get rid of the serial # on them as the trade off |

15 minutes with a file and sand paper. No more seams. Going to mill them tomorrow!
For those that want to know: I used a 3 sided file to get the bulk of the work done. I then wrapped the file with 150 grit and sanded, checking frequently. Once the lines had disappeared, I hit it with a quick once over with 220 grit. Turned out Great! Before/After Last edited by DanDanPumperMan; 01-01-2013 at 9:36 PM.. |

nor have I ever seen a screw in the LPK for this. The trigger guard is held in with a roll pin in the rear holes and the front hole with a detent in the guard itself.

I read this guys post and wondered the same thing. QD lowers have the threaded bolt release pin but I've never seen a lower with threaded trigger guard pin.

Okay people, went to Ares in Oceanside and had them milled. The guys there had no problem doing it. They fit in the cnc jig just like the one lower I purchased from Ares. Mission complete. Cost was $65 per 80% and took about an hour, as there were 10 people in front of me.

I ordered a 80% lower from them before the new year and it came within 2 or 3 days. Just went to Ares Armor today and got it milled and it seems pretty good so far. Waiting on a lower parts kit from Palmetto State Armor, but who knows when that will get here. I'm just praying that it will actually get shipped out and not back ordered... Everyone seems to be out of lpk's...

Went to Ares today also and did my lower. Easy pleasy!! .
Was about 10 lowers in front of me to be done. Had no problem waiting. They did a nice job doing some finishing work after is was done in the machine. Spent 5 min on it. Also spoke to Rogh today. Try started business back again today so that was the delay. Got my tracking today for my other 2 I ordered. |

What type of "finish work" did they do to it after you were done milling? Did they take off that seam in the trigger area? Did they just do it ? Or did you ask them about it ? Jared |
