Best answer possible. All my steel is American made as well but a lot of EDC folders are chinese it seems. Price increases in the chinese product will permit price increases in the competing American made product.

everyone seems to forget we have some very questionable bridges in the SF bay area built out of Chinese steel that is rusting and snapping off. The driver's must love the swaying back and forth until a small earthquake knocks them down. this state sold itself out to the Chinese. do you think they are going to send quality weapons of any kind over here?

Yes, it's not just about Chinese vs American vs European steel. Any disruption of normal supply will eventually send overall prices higher (regardless of material source).

"Knife makers tell us that blade steel can represent upwards of 25% of the materials costs that go into making a knife. But, Elliot Williamson, Co-Founder of*Ferrum Forge*explains that in the short-term, an increase in the cost of steel is more likely to have an impact on bigger US knife manufacturers like Spyderco, Benchmade, and KAI-USA than custom makers and small batch shops."

I try to buy knives when they go on some sort of sale. I'm a sucker for decent deals on SteepAndCheap, MassDrop, Amazon Deal of the Day, etc .
