This again??? People are still hanging onto this? .This is super old news, yes they hired some random guy involved in ruby ridge. They instantly fired the guy after learning more into the history and gave big statements on it and weren't hiding anything.

Troy does a lot for the 2nd amendment and donates a lot of money towards the fight for our rights and other good charities and police. More then what most people on calguns and other gun companies do for it.

If your rifle is reliable and usable no matter what you paid for it or what they sell on the retail market, and you are going to use it as a defense firearm, spending a little money on good optics is nothing to be apologetic for. Ruger is good maker of firearms anyway.

Target/long range shooters often spend more on glass than the rifle.

Im seriously considering spending 12-15 hundred bucks on a low power variable mag scope for my AR.

Bad eyes and getting worse. I've taken to putting glow in the dark paint (nail polish) on iron sights. I shoot many critters in the dark of night. Seems to work alright for now.

Can't afford fancy glass!

*UPDATE*

I got a Noveske rifle and Acog TA31 to throw on it. I'll be selling the Ruger to a friend and I have the MRO in the classifieds currently. I really hope I'm done and won't be getting a HK MR556 or Scar with a Schmidt and Bender or Nightforce.

If I can throw my 2 cents in here (or like $1700)

take a look at Elcan Specter DR 1-4x

its a great optic, just put one on my DD rifle. It cost more than the rifle itself but will outlast the rifle by a long shot, or at least the barrel. Worth it in my opinion.
