Default Ship my rifle to other state

Instead of flying with check in luggage, I would like to ship my rifle instead.

I have heard I can ship my rifle to myself without going through FFL, is that true? I understand that I will be the one who open the box at the other end.

I am going North Dakota next month. Thanks!

Yes can ship it to yourself, even c/o somebody else - but why? Flying with rifles is easy, uneventful, and likely safer than trusting a shipper.
