I purchased a JD stripped lower and a stripped upper as a walk in customer back on 1/12/13 and received a call a few days ago with a pick up date of 5/14/13.

I emailed JD yesterday asking if I will be notified when my lower/upper will be shipped & if the could maybe give an approx timeframe & this is the response I recieved

We are currently shipping orders from 12/23. Thank you for your continued patience.

Kinda disheartening

& if I remember correctly that has been the response for almost a month! A lot of people must have ordered that week! (Sarcastic)

went in today to see where I was at. I ordered one on 01-16. they said they were on 01-14 orders so should be pretty close to going through DROS. but I decided to add three more (one for each kid) and throw it all on one DROS. they said it would be an additional week per added lower, so another month or so which is fine since I'm in no rush.

however, they did tell me they have billet lowers available now for $199.99 and would only have to wait the 10 day jail time. i figured I was in no rush and was fine with a forged lower.

I dont want to look like I'm bashing JD since I'm a happy customer but FYI to all those people using the website to check on their order. I already picked mine up a week ago and the site still says my order is "pending". So dont rely on that.

Now that's quick! Maybe if people switch enough orders to their billets, it could free up some forged lowers for those still waiting.

Congrats to those who got theirs shipped recently.

Good things come to those that wait! I ordered mine on 1/12/13 and picked her up today (5/14/13). Here she is, that is half of her. I got home and went to work on her. I tell you they are worth the wait.

I walked in and ordered on April 25. They told me it would be the normal 18 week wait. I soon as I saw Big Shot announce that JD now makes billet lowers and they had the first batch I call JD and switched my order. Ill be picking mine up 31st of this month only because I told them ill be out of town anyways. Im a happy camper.

I have JD, Stag, and Ares Armor lowers. The JD lowers I feel are the best quality and will only by JD from here on out.

So I've heard about the billet lowers and I want one. I ordered 2 forged JD lowers online 2/11. I was told it would a 16-20 week wait, which is was ok with.
I called yesterday and canceled one forged lower and changed my other lower to a billet. Woman I spoke with said looks like they can get it out in a few weeks and took my FFL's info!
They were really cool to me. Let me change my order and keep my place in line, as well as refund me the difference. Got my fingers crossed ill actually get the billet in a couple weeks

Also, first guy who answered my call said new orders are a 2 month wait, so it sounds like they are slowly catching up

What was your total cost of the Billet once you changed your order?

It was about $225. 200 for the lower plus tax, shipping, and the lock you have to buy with it.

If you go to AR15.com they told them they're shipping orders from mid-January. They're feeding everyone BS. They took every order, charged everyone's card and collected the money even though they cant deliver the product for 6 months. Not a bad way to make a lot of money off interest on customers backs.

I called and They said they would sell the billet at $160 if you have a pending forged order. Forgot to asked him how it would work if I wanted one billet and one forged! They won't do calguns in billet!
