Here's my latest update.

10/13/17 - Class
10/30/17 - Interview
12/15/17 - Approval and Fees Paid
??/??/?? - Waiting for mail

I called and asked on the 16th and was told new permits must wait for the mail. If nothing in 4 weeks then to call back and inquire.

I was thinking about just popping into the live scan office at the jail and see if its there, based on previous posts it may be ready there. When the person told me wait for the mail on the phone they sounded like they wanted to get off the phone. When I paid the second set of fees it told me to pick it up at the live scan office. E-mail all said to wait for the mail. That's the reason I considered going down there to see if its ready for pickup.

Update - Called LiveScan office and they confirmed all new permits are now sent out via mail. I paid last week and they still haven't received mine to mail out. So traveling down there would be fruitless.

Default Final dates and information

OK, here is the final information:

10/13/17 - Class
10/30/17 - Interview
12/15/17 - Approval and Fees Paid (It appears that they all do them in a batch) I have a few friends that all did the paperwork etc around the same time as me. All were approved on 12/15. Everyone from October to mid November seemed to have this date.
12/26/17 - Arrived in mail
1/13/18 - Taking class for Utah CCW.

Overall it was a great process. Thanks to the CSO for making it so simple. Its comforting in Fresno having my permit.

I applied today, class is scheduled Sat. Appointment is the 20th. Probably should’ve waited until after the class, does it matter?

For me:
03/13/2018 - CCW Class
04/02/2018 - Interview
05/13/2018 - ?????
Majority of people seem to get theirs around 30 days but some took as long as 45 days. They may do them in batches. I'm going to update when I get the call/email.

I just got off the phone with a lady there in concealed weapons. She stated it can take up to 3 months. I asked that I wanted to check the status on my application. Her IMMEDIATE response was "it can take up to 3 months, let me check." What happened to the 4-6 week wait time from the interview?

Ok. So I got an E-mailed on Monday the 21st around 1:40pm that said I was approved. I knew they were closing at 2pm so I waited til the next day. I went in at 8:30am, and told the lady that the email said to pay and wait for it in the mail, but the website said I needed to show up with my I.D. She replied that Initials have to wait via mail, but if I went on my phone and paid, she would hand it to me right then and there. I paid and she gave it to me. Pretty speedy process VS the previous years. Good luck gentlemen.

I have no idea if the new FAKE CDL will affect anything but I renew as soon as they allow. ( within 30 days ). My last renewal was unbelievably fast. Uploaded the required items at 8:00 PM had the approval text before 7:00 AM the next morning.

If you renew early now then you have to renew early in two years. I didn’t care.
You need the class before you renew.

Does anyone know what Fresno SO GC standard and issuance was like prior to Mims becoming sheriff in 2006?

Thursday- 6/6/19 text msg. received that it has been Approved.
Just now waiting for further instruction when I can pick it up.
It was pretty straightforward process online- just have all your documents uploaded and attach on your online application. Best wishes.

I heard on the news today, that Sheriff Mims has allowed more than (4) guns to be on our list of authorized guns. Has anyone else heard about this?

Our wonderful Sheriff Mims has indeed authorized no limit on handguns to have listed.
Obviously you would still need to qualify with those more then four handguns. So I suggest a call to whoever you used as an Instructor if interested in adding more handguns.
You can amend your permit for $10.00 and using the website to add firearms. Just have your cert.

Fresno County is a great place for CCW.

Ok so every two years when i renew the date is earlier and earlier. So if my permit expires dec 7th, do i do the class now but can i wait until december 6th to activate my two years if that makes sense?

They went over that in my interview. They acted as if they didn't really care when it was done. I'd say anytime in the six month range should be more than fine.

Just got my notice of approval, less than one week from my interview. Said to expect the card and papers in the mail within four weeks.

Wait we can renew 6 months in advance but pick up permit when due date is close to end?
