175 rds @ 15 yds mostly rapid fire. with a CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow Custom 9mm
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1347528600.637765.jpg Group on right was on purpose. Even still I had some screwups pushing myself for quicker follow up shots. It sure gets harder tracking that front sight when things speed up. When I felt accuracy slipping a bit. I just dialed it back till I was comfy again and could see the sights clearer. Guess it just takes time. |

This is a BHP from about 1986. A target version of the gun, same as the fixed sight version except for the type II sights. I'm about an average shooter. This group was shot with 25 rounds of Federal 115 gr. ball ammo at 25 yards from a Weaver stance. The gun will do better but this is average for the shooter unless I use a rest.

Hi all,
I purchased my first hand gun,an H&K USP .40 and added the UTL. Anyway, last sat I shot it for the first time. Earlier that day I took a basic hand gun safety class. Watched some YouTube videos and read some threads here (things like sight picture, proper grip and trigger pull) This was at 21'. Upper group was basic range ammo (can't remember exactly what it was, PCM?), lower group was 185g Hollow point. I wanted to see how the two rounds behaved. |

noone shoots past 25 yards?
50 yards, 460 S&W, 540 grain bullet, wasn't trying, I let the sandbag sag: Best group at 100 yards, <3 inches, 425 grain bullet. sandbags, no magnified optics. Whatever you think about a rested gun, grip and consistency is still critical. It WILL show up in group size. Just like offhand shooting. Last edited by Whiterabbit; 04-05-2013 at 2:53 PM.. |

I picked up a classic midcentury midrange Bullseye pistol at Eddy's last week.
First 5 shots: 2 to get to know her, then 3 in the eye! It got better from there. This one definitely more accurate than I'll ever be. This is a S&W Model 52-2. More about this gun here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=737695 ...

did this the other day at 50 yards with 740 grain bullets. Each bullet is a 45 caliber cylinder of lead 1.6 inches long.
Ever shoot a 740 grain bullet out of a pistol? I wouldn't want to be the tyrannosaur on the other end. If I can't kill it with 3700 grains of lead I have no business shooting...at.. it? |

200 rounds, HK45C 7, 10, and 15 yard lines. Variable Pace, reloads, etc. Slow fire is boring to me now though---I wanna go fast!

I picked up a new to me gun the other day and took it to an indoor range to give it a whirl. I brought some factory ammo with me, nothing fancy. And a couple of sets of stocks to try out on it.
Gun is a S&W 24-3 in 44 Spl. 6 1/2" barrel. From a run of 7500 they did in 1984-84. I'm a run of the mill shot who always fights a flinch so the gun is much better than I am, which is usually the case. Here are two groups both shot at about 12 yards. Weaver stance. On the left 12 rounds of Speer 200 gr. GDHP. Out of every 44 Spl. I own this is an accurate round. On the right 18 rounds of Winchester 246 gr. LRN. I did not adjust the sights for the different weight bullets. Just aimed a bit higher for the lighter. Flyers were my fault. A better shot coulda had one hole. Here also are two groups shot with the light loaded Magtech 240 gr. LFN, again at 12 yards. A good gun. I need to get it over a rest and a good reload. tipoc Last edited by tipoc; 06-04-2013 at 10:22 PM.. |
