Default $220 for new 10/22 good deal?

A Calif friendly FFL I've been trading emails with is offering to ship Standard model 10/22's wood OR synthetic stock to your FFL in Cal for $220 Delivered + 2% for CC payment. Good price? They are instock. Same rifles Big 5 is selling for $279 they have them in the warehouse also, you just have to ask the store to order one . I'll post the out of State vendors info if anybody wants it.

$219 is about the best retail price I've seen on the standard "compact" model. If he's throwing in tax & DROS what are you waiting for? Where is this?

I recently bought a used stainless steel w/wood stock for $230 out the door from fieldtime. I thought that was a fair deal. Last time I was in oc armory (a week or so ago) they had new synthetic/ blue with laser for less than $300

Don't forget the dros $25 and the ffl fee to do deal $40 is the least expensive I know of...

the FFL transfer fee, DROS and tax does not really make it worth it. Where are you located?

I just paid $249 for one, plus all the other expenses. There were a few behind the counter and I'd been planning on getting one sooner or later. $219 seems like a good price for one.

Damn good deal. I haven't been in a gun store for a while but I would think 10/22s are very hard to get now with the upcoming legislation banning their future sale.

Wood or Synthetic stock 10/22 $220 delivered to Calif. (They have 6 instock)
Which is more than my local dealers, they can't seem to get them.

(Any credit card transaction will require a 2% addition to the cost)

I guess it wasn't clear in my original post? This isn't me, just a FFL from SC that is CA friendly and would like to do more business with us out here. Local FFL up here wants to add $100 plus Tax and DROS so not a good deal for me.
He is looking into some C&R handguns for me though

Yep killed the deal for me. They also have a used 10/22 with wood stock for $185. This CA friendly dealer sells on Guns America, that's where I ran into him looking for a used 10/22.

Asking the wrong person, check the contact info and send him an email, they reply fairly quickly to emails.

I finally got a hold of my regular FFL and OTD $295, taxes & FEES included! I called in an order with the dealer back in SC.

Said he got some emails from CA Guns members but no sales.

He was telling me 3 other states were difficult to deal with, MA, NY, IL but CA is the worst.

However he said if you think you've got it bad try Canada ( my Italian family calls it the UPPA U.S. ) for handguns. They shipped a handgun into a dealer up there, the new owner could NOT transport it from the shop to home without an authorization letter from the government. It can take upto 60 days to get said letter! Now possibly that delay was due to it being an import I don't know or all handguns. Would be interesting to hear from someone that actually buys firearms in Canada though.

I know I got a decent deal on a 10/22 and it's on the way! Samething Big 5 is selling for $279.99 plus DROS and Taxes. My "inside track" with Big 5 says there is no 10/22 sales in the forseeable future until they start getting "regular" shipments from Ruger.

Good deal. I paid about $7 more locally for mine so I believe prices are coming back to normal hopefully. GL with your new toy and GL finding ammo. Have fun

Thanks, I'm going to try some Tech Sights on this one, maybe an ATI stock in tan color or maybe just leave the original stock in place. Ammo isn't an issue right now, last inventory showed around 4-5000 rds of various makes and vintages some bricks are 20 years old. Including 1000 rounds Winchester Super X sent free from a sporting goods store customer service rep for being "helpful" with some issues!
