The DL alone won't do it unless the locals have incorporated software to automatically query a number of different state data bases.

They have to run the "known persons" file. That will bring up the CII# (California Information and Identification Number - it's on your CCW, and, if you have one, your RAP sheet) and your CCW status.

If they run a firearms check through AFIS on your name, the guns on the CCW will come up.

That's most accurate. Once they know who you are they can find your (registered) firearms and ccw listed on your name comes up something like ***CCW***
