You can add a siderail but not easily. You will have to drill out one of the rear trunnion rivets and have a way to rivet the bracket on. This would be a project for a build party so you can use someones tools.

1. Because they are idiots.
2. You didnt put a pistol grip/bullet button on it, did you?

You can use whatever size magazines you want in an M1A, just dont incriminate yourself when talking to the wrong person. "Yeah, I just bought this rebuild kit online two weeks ago! Look at how cool it is with 20 rounds!"
Don't talk about it with anyone, no one needs to know when and how you acquired your magazines.

Seems like there are a lot of good deals on AKs online lately... you guys ever order one online? What other fees are associated with it? Shipping? FFL? Tax?...etc? I m interested in buying a pretty decent AK also.. maybe like the OP in the $1K range? The deal in the link above seems pretty good?

Bought a Century WASR today, Everything is as tight as a snakes butthole, Mag, Rivets, furniture (i know they have a tendancy to rattle around when they heat up), Barrel looked good, action felt good, bolt matched the receiver, and it comes with a bayonet lolz. First thing im gonna do is take a crack at finishing the stock, and just ordered a 1k case of 7.62 for 299 from AZ
Im happy

Next will be either building an AR
Building a 74 (after i diddle this one for a while and learn the parts)
Or a Honda s2000 hahaha

The steel mag fits in really tight, pmags or any other polys shouldnt have any problems besides getting chewed up right?

Should work fine, might take a lil bit to "wear" in. On my draco the poly bulgarian and tapcos take an extra bit of "umph" to get to lock in. Only noticeable if you *****foot it in.

Id imagine the more and more you put mags in and out it only gets easier right? cause like i said its like really tight, might have to end up widening the receiver a bit

It comes with that one thats in the photo but thats it, i messaged aim surplus about their surplus steel mags with the 10 round plug already in them thats pretty much "semi permanent" and they said they dont ship to CA because they can be converted to 30 round "too easily" but as with any law you're expected not follow them and not to tamper with the plug, but, whatever they're losing money i guess

I prefer the steel lined poly mags, generally Bulgarian.

Buy a Saiga and convert it. Get a ultra low side scope mount from Kalinka and put either 2-7 or an eotech on it. Mine ran me just under 1k for top of the line everything. Use the rest for ammo.

No offence here, but a "top of the line" 2-7 is going to cost you damn near, if not more then a grand.

Like i said, i got the money, Did my research, came to the conclusion that a WASR will get the job done for me, my intentions were just buying an arsenal and call it a day but like i said, did my research, checked the rivets and all that, was happy with the fit and finish (aside from the wood, gonna stain it anyways), the numbers that i seen match on the one i picked out, so hey, might aswell have gotten an arsenal

you made a good choice. The WASR is actually a great deal, and one of the few true factory combloc rifles available. They arent pretty and you get no corksniffer points, but its a better value than an arsenal IMO

There is a good sticky on stock refinishing in the gunsmithing forum. I used everything he used and my stock color looks exactly what I wanted.
