Actually guys it was not the mean comments that made me change out my muzzle brake. I realized that the barrel was not free floating with that suppressor (it was touching the quad rails). I used a 18" barrel just so I can get the maximum range out of the gun without it being too long. So with the setup you see now I was able to hit metal targets at 600 yards out!!. I also ordered a nice Redfield BattleZone 3-9X scope to change out this cheap Barska scope although it was the scope I used to hit the 600yrd targets.

BTW: I didn't take any of those comment personally....

This was my first AR build and I was going for more FLASH than function, but I realized soon enough that will not work.

keep them comment coming!!!!! ....

here is what all the fuzz was about:

I built mine for fun. May swap the barrel and bolt and go to 6.8 though. I also regularly bring my rifle with me when upland bird hunting in case I see a hog. Within 50-75yds this thing will drop a hog cold and accurately too. Much lighter than my 8lb bolt-action rifle and it fits in my backpack, so I may end up bringing it with me instead of the trusty Ruger M77.

Yup, and having a blast doing it.

'MURICA!!

Also, FWIW out of a 7.5" barrel, you're still pushing a 65gr bullet 2250 FPS. Compare that to the .22WMR's 30gr @ 2200 FPS or 50GR @ 1600 FPS. I'll take the .223 short barrel any freaking day.
