Default Who's up for a J&G sales trip? Bakersfield/Kern

I'm considering taking a trip to J&G from Bakersfield, possibly this Saturday the 5th to pick up some new toys. If you are interested in carpooling PM me.

Too bad you are in Bakersfield. I'd like to go to pick up a Yugo Tokarev. I would call ahead if there's anything you're particularly after to make sure they have it. The run on guns and ammo hasn't only been in California.

So meet in Barstow, or San Bernadino if you want to go I-10.

You can place a "Will Call" order today and pick it up next week. That will guarantee you will not waste driving 500 miles.

If you are going, make sure the have your FFL on file. There have been reports of them not accepting them at the counter.

The good news is they will accept scanned emailed copies now.

My old man just picked up two Romanian Tokarevs. Things look brand new.

I was there to buy a couple of guns last month, they had plenty of Romanian Toks and a few Yugos. I bought a P38 and a CZ82 from them, great company. But this was before the Newtown shooting and all of the ensuing craziness. I would definitely call them and or order before making the drive.

Would love to go sometime. Just dont have any $ right now to buy. When I go I want to buy a few things, and it is just too far to drive to buy one gun.

Default J&G Trip

I'm in Bakersfield. Just saw your post today. I'd be interested in carpooling the next time you go. I love a good road trip.

I tried this trip with my wife in 2011 in November. Drove straight out the 10 and then crossed over to go north east. Hit a bunch of snow in the mountains 12 miles out of Prescott.. We had to turn around since we were not prepared. No chains, no warm jackets.
We had a room booked in Prescott for the night and ended up sleeping in Surprise instead.

Lesson learned, check the weather for Prescott since it is way higher than Phoenix and the lower Arizona areas.

Mehhh. My dad and I went there right before New Years and the snow is very light. You should not need chains. They keep the roads pretty clear and the snowfall is a little worse in town than out on the 89.

None of the locals use chains. And they said their first snowfall intown was right after Christmas.
