Slightly dented brass ?
I test fired my new stock CZ 97 the other day and picked up the 45 ACP brass. Noticed minor denting at the rim.
1. Will the Cajon Pro package I'm going to install help with the ejection and denting? 2. Any problem running that brass thru a Dillon 550? |

All semi auto rifles and pistols are going to beat up brass a lot more than a bolt action or a revolver.
If I were you I’d look for the worst piece and see if it runs through the press. I’ve run some pretty chewed up brass through the sizing die and it ironed out all the issues. |

I have taken a bullet and used the tip to help really bad brass before fo both pistol and rifle brass. On lesser bent brass the reloading dies take care of it.

OP- You said rim, but it looks like we're all thinking you meant mouth. If you meant mouth, minor denting will be taken care of with your resizing die and belling die. Or, you can straighten worse dents a bit with a tapered punch, then run it though your dies.
If you meant the rim (the area where the extractor grabs the brass to pull it out of the chamber) we'd have to see a picture.

I'm sometimes amazed how jacked up a piece if brass can be and still get resized back in to shape and reloaded. For pistol, if it will fit into the resizing die and the case head is fine it gets reloaded.
As far as the gun denting the brass....it happens some guns more than others and some loads more than others.

A PTR91/G3 really dings the brass but I've resized & reused that. I can't imagine a handgun doing anything worse.

For me, a small dent or ding on pistol brass shouldn't matter much so long as the case still passes the barrel drop test. If there is a tear or a rip, that's a different matter -- then the case goes bye bye into the garbage.

I'd try resizing it, loading it, then some explosive machining. A pistol chamber makes a good die for the explosive machining.

I get more dings - both the mouth and base with factory loads
[ 357 , 41 , 44 , 45 , 50 ] I have the Lee hand loader for all my calibers and a wack or 2 fixes them . If they crack - still good to sell as brass . I use range bras . If someone wants to try any of my pistols - sure , you buy the cartridges and I get the M T's and ant you don't shoot .
