I've been carrying the Glock 30sf for a couple years now. I'm not very disciplined on taking care of my gun. After at least 6 months of carrying that gun and never taking it out of my holster. I took it to the range, all full of dust and lent. Sent all ten rounds without missing a beat and continued to fire a couple hundred more rounds with out any issues. I don't have much experience other brands, but I know I can depend on my Glock

Had a Glock 30sf but didn't fit my hand well. Went with the XD 45c, much better.

Thanks for all the replies. After some consideration I will stick to a .45 striker fired since all my other ccw pistols are striker fired. Looking at the shield 2.0 .45. Will wait till I can get it in my hands and see how it feels.

Ditto. The 30S is an excellent choice.

Especially with the G21 13-round magazine. Great carry gun.

Exactly! That is why I switched to striker fired for all of my CCW autos. Starting with the G19 I went with the G36 for the .45 auto. Outstanding carry gun IMO, compact, light accurate, reliable.

I see this thread is a bit old but for what its worth. I have three .45 on my CCW. Sig 220, Kimber 1911 Elite, Glock 36. I shoot all of them regularly and I’m proficient with each of them. I carry the Glock 95% of the time and have for the past 3 years. I carry an extra magazine in a horizontal pouch giving me 11 rounds very comfortably. The size, width and loaded weight allows me to always have it on me. Obviously, the other two are my choice for just shooting but that isn’t the point. I am not a huge Glock fan like many of you are but for this purpose the 36 has performed very well and I wouldn’t change it.

The G36 is the double stack .45 right? I put it in my hands and it just felt thick

Don't buy without shooting an XD-45.

I love my Colt Defender .45 it definitely my go to when carrying. Like mentioned before you absolutely must practice, practice, and practice some more to develop muscle memory on flipping that safety off during an extremely high volatile situation. I've definitely seen some people during training situations forget to flip that thumb causing millisecond delays that can get you killed. It must be an automatic action when drawing. I have started carrying my G30 or XDS 3.3 45 a lot more. If I carry my shield 40 I don't event flip the safety on, yes, I have one of those versions ...ugh!
