The idea was a G19 sized 2011 l that I could carry, but shoot regularly for training. The titanium parts are actually stronger than steel commonly used, but much lighter. The grip is officers size, with a 4Ē barrel making this a doublestack CCO.

The extractor is also made in house and is 9mm specific for the slides I make. They flat out work with little tuning.

This is not a build that starts out of a catalog, itís almost 100% custom.

Blend to the up and down position. First pic is up and second pic is down. When depressed all I care about is shooter comfort, so I blend it for a smooth grip with no hot spots. Notice the thumb safety has been contoured to follow the frame lines with no raised spots in the down position. Next up, carry bevel package.

Beautiful bob.
I will say nothing about the Btgs fit and blend since I know it wasn't you.

Sear engagement to hammer hooks. This is what you want to see. This is a cylinder and slide kit which is according to them a drop in part (itís not). It only engaged on one side before I worked on it. Also they come with no relief angle cut.

Great parts, my favorite in fact. But they are not drop in.

Cut and fit the traditional style grips to the bob tail per the customers request.

Remember when someone says ďyou canít do thatĒ, there is always a way.

Note: pics posted in reverse order. So start from the bottom.

The original sight cut was too deep to do a BoMar sight cut and install. So we did a little outside the box.

Certainly wasn't me - it was my gun, a S&W with non-standard slide that included a proprietary rear sight cut and (as you can see in the photos) no cut for the internal extractor.

I wanted to make it into a USPSA Single Stack competition gun so adjustable sights were a must, together with trigger work, hammer, internals, magazine well, oversize magazine release and alike. Everything was going well until Brett measured the sights and told me that no standard sight would fit.

After a bit of discussion about options, we agreed to do what he called "a Dutch." It's a lot of work and quality gunsmith time isn't cheap, but it was well worth it. The two 1911s he set up for me for competition proudly hang in my safe next to my SVI-s and you can't tell the difference between all those (sub) 2 lb triggers. They are at least a few notches above any other 1911 I own.

As for the silver solder seam, it's hardly visible when the gun is clean and shows as a very fine line when it's dirty. I have shown in to many shooters who tried the gun at my local range (Rainbow) and nobody could believe the process. They would try to catch a thumbnail on the seam and couldn't. As for me, I love to see this fine line when I'm cleaning the slide as it reminds me of the process it took to make it happen.

Itís a base for a BoMar sight to fit in a current Novak sight cut. Still have to drill and tap the slide and machine the rest of the slide for the BoMar. Itís made by Bunker Arms.
