prc77 is correct. But if you shoot the Multigun Nationals early you can still shoot the PCC match!

Of course that means that those top shooters who would normally be attending the match will be off at the Multigun nationals.. so.. you will naturally bump up a few places since they will all most likely be elsewhere on match day..

Out of curiosity from someone not-in-CA, do people actually use 10 round mags and do 4 mag changes? I would imagine lots of people have grandfathered 33 round Glock mags, but spliced mags are obviously illegal.

you will need to do 8 mag changes on just one stage if you used 10 rounders

The pending high-cap mag ban is currently prevented by a court order from going into effect. Until it does, Richmond is still allowing >10-round mags to be used in competition in sport/divisions that allow them.

For those of us not familiar with PCC, is this a pistol match or a multi gun match?

Rifle match using pistol-caliber carbines (PCC). Probably mostly run-and-gun like a pistol match, with a few stages with longer (~50 yard) shots. Doubt there will be any real reach-out-touch-someone distance shots.

one gun,, PCC = Pistol Caliber Carbine... 9mm most common. Very high round count stages. Longest shots 40-45 yards.

Does anyone know if you can use pistols with Sig arm braces?
i.e. SP89 ,CZ evo or Sig Mpx
I went the pistol route figering I could always get featureless carbines later.

Pistols with arm braces don't meet the definition of "carbine."

How does that work? Do all the PCC winners and places get to walk the prize table before the handgun shooters do?

It's all about money. More shooters more money, greater chance the match will return because it didn't finish in the red.

What equipment do you need to shoot this? First timers welcome? Anything you can point me towards so you'll have to do less escorting of the clueless?

First timers as in never shot a USPSA, IDPA, Multigun, or ICORE match before? Completely new to competition and never attended a safe handgun or safe multigun competitor class?

This would not be for those who generally go to the range and stand at the bench firing at a single bullseye target from 10-25 yards. This match is for people who are experienced at action shooting and handling a pcc or pistol while moving among several target arrays and presentations. If you've shot a few action matches, then yes you should be good.. If you don't know about what gear you would need, this is likely not the match for you.

That being said, it is a very fun match, but if you are completely new to this sort of thing, take one of the action safety classes and get educated first.
