This is an interesting post, I'm glad it was started.

I have acquired my first handgun with a rail and intended to put a wml on it but the more I've thought about it I want to put a TLR 8. If I don't like the laser I've lost nothing, I still have my light.

My biggest concern is being good enough at Operating the switches, decision to use, etc, its one more thing to remember under stress, although the scenario under which I see it being my go to sighting is in the home so it can potentially be on and ready at first sound.

A cheap, laser free way to see if your trigger pull is steady: Get a round and place it on your barrel, then pull the trigger while balancing the round there.

King,
That's with a lasered Shield? There's nothing wrong with that.
Do you know your splits on that target?

No laser for me!

Because of a larger subtended angle at a distance in addition to the "smaller" size of the dot at a distance, I prefer NOT to use a laser. Having a laser is but hype, in my book.

Better to use a Carry Optic, etc.

I think with a defensive position in my house of rollover prone in a short hallway guarding the main hall in low light a laser might make sense.

I don't think they are for everything but some instances they might be the ticket.

Yes with laser, double tapping it. I'm more accurate without the laser but much slower for same exercise.

This is other shield 9 with no laser. I am much slower on the double tap slower but more accurate.

The exercise was to increase speed and still try to hit all in the center mass area (10 point)

I dont worry about tight grouping just trying to hit center mass with as quick as possible double tap.

I had one high up and left.... dont know man

Looks nice.

I too have the occasional flyer, I seem to always have one that ruins my attempts at not having one ruin my goal for a practice round

I'm trying my best to do Dave Spauldings 2x2x2 5 in a row and always have a couple that ruin it for me, usually .1 to .15 seconds slow on it as well.

If youíre going to dry fire squeeze the trigger until the hammer drops. Iím sure that video is to demonstrate how to balance the snap cap, but itís a sure way to train your trigger finger in short stroking the hammer.

My only gripe about one is I would prefer a grip laser but I'm left handed and can't find one for lefties, my thumbs block the laser on the grip mounted versions.

i would on a hand gun. why not have every option?
i don't, but i would or will.

plus it is Operator AF.

i plan to get a DBAL A3 for the Scar, as soon as i dream up enough remotely possible scenarios where i might need to engage somebody in the dark, or without being able to get behind the scope.

i have a crimson trace grip for my older P226, but it is a little to "fat" for my liking so it was only on it for a month.
i'd sell it cheap or pay it forward if somebody can promise to pay it forward too.
