Default Proof of address problem- help?

Bear with me, I may mess up this explanation...

So I just moved into a new place. It's like a townhouse in a neighborhood of other townhouses. My address, according to my rental agreement, mailing address, etc is (let's say) 123 fake St #10. Fake St is a side street off of Main St. The only thing is, my service address according to pg&e and my local cable provider (aka my proof of address bills) is 123 Main St, NOT 123 Fake St, like my mail and rental agreement say. I called the rental place and they verified this but couldn't tell me why other than "it happens sometimes."

What are my options? I haven't gone to the DMV yet... Can I list my address on my license as 123 Main St so that it matches the utility bills? Or is that considered lying or something on the application? I was planning on applying ASAP but I hit this snag. Any advice for a fellow calgunner?

I'd use the one that the utilities go to. It makes it easier for address verification.

Send yourself a letter using both address!

Do they both get to you without corrections?

You could also check with the Post Office for their take!

All else fails....use the utility address....also check with them, maybe they could shead some light there.

Also, have you checked with any of your neighbors? They might be able to help also! Just a thought....

Good luck there....

You can use your rental agreement as proof of address btw.

Didn't know about the rental agreement counting. I'll call the SO and double check because that would help. But I have asked around, no one knows why. It seems like only my building has this problem. Maybe it was built later? Thanks for the advice though guys

I have a similar issue.
And this is how it is resolved.
My house had a different address at one time so my PG&E service has one address and my house has a different one.

PG&E just mails my bill to the correct address and the meter sits at a different address.

Easy solution
Make an appointment with the DMV
Go online to DMV and update your address for your car and drivers license.
Show up to the DMV to get a certified printout of you address for your car and DL- cost is $5

Go satisfy the FFL with the dmv printout of car and DL

If you keep a PO BOX on your registration and DL, the process above is the only way to make life easy.
