Question What kind of adjustable sights?

Are adjustable sights especially important at Appleseed? Or are less adjustable ones fine?

I've noted that there are two different varieties of Tech Sights for the Ruger 10/22. One type of rear sight has elevation and windage adjustment knobs, while the other has just windage for zeroing (elevation is zeroed on the front sight post of course).

And of course for the AR-15 there are the A1 sights that are not really adjustable (most of the aftermarket sights are like this) or the A2 sights with easy windage and elevation knobs.

When I finally manage to get to an Appleseed, I plan to use an AR-15 in .22LR, and I am wondering what kind of sights are best.

Yes having adjustable sights is important. You will get way more out of it then with the factory sights. The more adjustment you can make the better. I have seen people run out of elevation on the front sight post so I think it is worth it to pay the extra 10 bucks for it. The Williams are a good sight as well but not as easy to adjust as the tech sight.

I'm not talking about factory sights vs. Tech Sights. I'm talking about which kind of Tech Sights.

Personally, I fit my LTR loaners with the TSR-200 the adjustable elevation rear, but honestly for use at 25M either works.

What you want to avoid is having the front sight wound so far out (up) that its wobbling about (you raise the front sight to bring the group down). So I bottom the frontsight then up 2 clicks, with the rear sight bottomed. Then I shoot a group, measure and adjust as required. Its only $10 more for the 200.

Cheers

Here I will make it easy. Spend the extra $10 bucks(a total of $69 plus shipping) and get the the TSR-200.
