I need a decent carpenter to build me a storage box similar to a truck vault for my FJ cruiser.

I have the plans and measurements. I would build it myself, but I suck with wood, and I do not have the tools.

You need to be local, somewhat, so I can pick up the finished product from you. If you are interested, I will send you a link to the plans. If you want the job, let me know your cost to build it, and I will pay for the materials up front.

I can trade gun services, or can pay cash if that is what you need.

You can be in Ventura County, or in the San Fernando Valley.

The plans can be viewed here. I want 1 drawer rather than 2, and I will finish the exterior.

Have you tried a local cabinet shop? Looks more like shop work vs carpenter out of his truck/in your driveway kind of work...to me anyway.

You're lookin at $500-$600 man. Nobody is going to build that in you're driveway due to the painting, dry time is down time. That's $220 or so in material. I could probably knock it out in 6 hrs (spread out over 2 days due to painting) I'm $60/hr and I'm in OC.
Just buy the gun vault. It's metal!

Pretty sure when he said he would finish the exterior, he meant he would paint/stain whatever.

OP, if you get desperate, i can probably do it for you, but im 2 weeks out currently on work. Im a GC, you can say u hired a Contractor to Renovate your FJ

by the way, I found a retired guy in Craigslist. $150 for labor (he complained he bid it too low) and $135 for materials.

$285 total, gunvault was about $700 bucks more.
Think I did ok
