Depends on who they're comparing him to. When you're the minority you're constantly playing damage control in the political game.

A little more context here would help IMO.

So the NRA isn't allowed to support anyone other than what, conservative Republicans? No wonder they have such a small membership in relation to the number of gun owners.

Really, though, do you honestly expect them to support everyone you do and vice versa? We all vote differently, why should the NRA cater to one party? If they are for gun rights, that's what should matter because guess what... the NRA protects our gun rights.

I could care less if its a republican or democrat. We'd be better off with more libertarians, imo.

Have you called the NRA and let them know? Complaining to Californians that have kept di fi, Boxer etc in office for life will do little good.

YUP. The NRA is a single issue organization (usually) and its only goal is/should be to focus on the 2nd amendment positions/voting records of candidates. Abortion, gay rights, immigration policy, national defense, taxation, education, health and human services ... All addressed by other groups.

Expecting anymore is not only unreasonable, it wouldn't even be feasible.

Pick your priority issue and vote accordingly.

I would always prefer a "dirtbag rhino" who can win and still be good for the RTKBA than support someone who is unelectable and end up with a democrat who wins and is DEVISTATING to the RTKBA!

With perhaps the notable exception of California's NRA rep's support of Sniff in the recent SoCal sheriff's election.

More importantly, why are we crapping all over Friends of NRA sub-forum regarding this topic?

OP and others clearly don't realize this is Friends of NRA sub-forum and that Friends of NRA is the fundraising arm of the NRA Foundation. The NRA Foundation supports shooting and education programs, has nothing to do with politics or lobbying.

Comprehension is important.

Quote:
About Us
The NRA Foundation is the country's leading charitable organization in support of the shooting sports, having awarded thousands of grants in support of educational programs since its inception in 1990. The NRA Foundation supports those organizations and programs that ensure the continuation of our proud shooting and hunting heritage.

Foundation grants provide essential program funding, ensuring the availability of quality training and educational opportunities nationwide. Grants benefit programs such as youth education, law enforcement training, hunter education, conservation, firearms and marksmanship training and safety, and much more.

Through its grant support of eligible educational programs, The NRA Foundation carries out its important educational mission across the country. Foundation grants allow shooting sports-related programs to develop, expand, and enhance their educational curricula to deliver valuable services to millions of Americans.

He might be a soft NRA supporter, but who would the OP support?

Seriously OP, ditch the NRA for a few squishy picks???

People often mistake the NRA as being loyal to the Republican party. They have and will continue to support Democrats that back 2A.

I have to wonder... just how many pro-gun Republicans have you voted for?

It's attitudes reflected by the extreme right wing Republicans that make me want to go Independent. The only reason I haven't switched is because I wanted to be able to vote in Republican primaries, where I'm most likely going to find a candidate whose ideology most closely matches my beliefs.

That being said, it's almost not worth it anymore to have to deal with 'real' Republicans, and if my knowledge serves me right, California started allowing No Party Preference primary voting awhile back. If that's the case, I guess you real Republicans won't have to deal with this RINO anymore.

If the election cycle opportunities of 14/16 are lost, so will go the supreme court and the 2A.

Take a deep breath....the NRA is one of your best friends...long term trench warfare is ugly.

I know that the recent electoral loss was frustrating, don't cut your nose off in spite of your face.

Redouble your efforts to get involved with the NRA on a local level...members voices are heard loud and clear.

You are the NRA

Yeah! Let's keep bumping the drive by post in the wrong sub-forum! Yeah!
