NRA Life Member $300
Why would anyone want a discount on Lifetime Membership?
Is it just to have a title? I'm not sure I understand. I thought the point of membership was to acquire funds to keep the NRA going. If we pay a discounted fee of $300 for a lifetime membership then the NRA misses out on necessary funds. Don't want to argue... Just a thought I had...

They figure most won't have enough to buy lifetime at $1000 rate but at 300 you could entice a few thousand people and have more capital now vs having 10 times that amount of new members/renewing members at $30.

I would be a life member at 300 but for 1000 I will continue paying the 30 simply for the cost and the fact that I want to support the cause. But I like I said I would jump all over the idea of paint that little for the life membership.

My wife made a good point about this as well it's save in the long run to be a life member at 300 since I'm not giving up my guns anytime soon might as well invest in the life membership and not worry about annual fee ever again.

Good point... I see now why that works.

I buy membership 3 or 5 years at a time, and every year I still get renewal mailings. NRA could save a bunch of money by cross referencing their mailing files. Anyway, $300 now to NRA is better than $30/year for 10 or more years. And not buying the lifetime membership at $1000 saves them from sending you the leather jacket (List at $300++ but likely costs them maybe ?$50+?). Anyway you buy it, NRA membership is a good cause. |

Don't fret you will still receive plenty of mail asking for donations... I became a life member so I could vote for board members... I still donate when I can.
The more life members the stronger they are or are perceived anyway. Many folks buy for a year or so and fail to renew.

I would get that life membership but I don't know how much longer I'm going to live.
I would sure hate to get it and end up dead in a year or so. Big waste of money on my buying part, tho' a good deal for the NRA, which is ok. I just feel I have to try to get my money's worth. dc |
