Did it get the BAR inspection with the adjustable ignition and BOV on there? I've never seen one pass with those installed.

what BOV?
The ignition isn't in the car. It was mounted but not connected at the time. And the ignition is CARB legal with stickers.

Blow off valve..

I am so confused now.... You can't go to the bar with a car that is not running.... So your saying that you had the car inspected with no ignition working?

I know what BOV is but my car doesn't have one.
The MSD EXTERNAL ignition was mounted in the car but not hooked up. I was still using the stock ignition system in the car/dist.

it does look a bit like a BOV but that would be an odd place to put a BOV. Maybe the duct tape patch on the AEM looks like it.

Good entertainment in the rice rocket thread. Telling the owner he has a BOV that he doesn't know of... LOL.

How do we know there is no BOV?

1. No turbo kit.
2. BOVs are usually between the intercooler and throttle body.
3. Regular AEM intake & DC header. There is no way it can build boost.

Based on the upgrades list he posted on the other website, there is nooooo way this car passed a BAR inspection as he has it equipped now.

That is a guarantee. Just the fuel rails and the adjustable timing alone is illegal no matter what. There is no correction other than stock.

I think he is false advertising by posting that it passed BAR. I have been there and I know what they look for and what they hammer people on. The inspector would chuckle as he opened the hood like a kid in a candy store.

For any buyer worried about a BAR inspection, make him take it there as equipped and get passed or you are gonna get burned.

your statements are apocryphal.
you say you know but lack basic credibility when you ask about a non existent BOV?
Didn't pass BAR? Look to the right in the first pic...that white sticker on the chassis...BAR sticker.
Won't pass smog?....I just smogged the car which was required for my new registration...which I got.
You're right about the adjustable cam timing though...probably won't pass a VISUAL inspection, but when the cover is on...they don't see it.
The fuel rail may "technically" be a no-no but the BAR refs didn't care.
The car is all legal, all paperwork (including BAR sticker and SMOG cert) are there. Sooo.....how now brown cow? and no thread crapping!

You know more about the car than the owner. Why do you come here to bad mouth his thread? The owner is just letting the potential buyer know that the car has legit parts.

Why hate on the rice rocket?

thanks. Funny how people like to talk smack and show how stupid they are.
"false" advertising when there is a BAR sticker in plain view.

you're thinking CROTCH rocket.
CROTCH rocket is an import bike
RICE rocket is an import hot rod...typically 4 banger
BOTH are rice BURNERS
