I have seen a number of good shooters of many different races, but the best shooter I have seen - rather seared into my brain - looked like an inbred extra off the cast of the movie "Deliverance."

There is a huge aftermarket for Glock as well. Zev, Taran Tactical, Agency Arms etc. made millions catering to the Glock crowd.

I'll trade you my hi-point for your glock. It might be a better gun for you compared to the glock.
Edit: it is a better gun than a glock.

Itís a competition gun but not a target gun. Meaning for stuff like ipsc/USPSA it is fast to find the target and get a shot off in an ďA-zoneĒ sized target zone.

Shooting bullseyes is not its thing.

Well said and a very good description of the G34's personality.

FWIW, in the spirit of this thread, my two favorite handguns right now are my G34 and my CZ75 SAO. Different guns, different philosophies, but both very good at what they do.

I don't think anyone is surprised the CZ TS shoots tighter clusters than a G34. You can't expect too much from the plastic $20 adjustable sight on the G34, either. I'd replace it with steel sight just like other OEM Glock plastic sights. If it isn't for you, fine. Get rid of it. It is a popular model. Personally, I don't have that one.

Swap out the sights, get a trigger guard undercut, shoot it and enjoy...

Or sell it

This is CalGuns, what did you expect?

In seriousness to the OP, all guns have their quirks, and if you find a gun is uncomfortable for you to shoot, then sell it or trade it for another. I've owned several Glocks throughout the years, because I love their simplicity and plethora or available upgrades. However, I know that for me, Glocks are a lot more work to get hits on target than just about every other handgun I've owned (1911s, Berettas, CZs, various revolvers, and even other polymer frames such as xD series and M&P.

On the rifle side, I once sold off a DSA FAL that punched me in the nose when I shot it. I cut my teeth in rifle shooting on a Mosin M44 and a VZ24 shooting 196gr. Yugo surplus ammo, so I'm no stranger to recoil, but something about the stock geometry of the FAL just didn't agree with me, and rather than attempting to conform my shooting form to an uncomfortable gun, I sold it and bought an M1A and couldn't have been happier.

This has been impressed upon me when I first started got into firearms 3-years ago... By the more skilled CalGunners (than the average member )...

I have never seen a stock glock sold with the adjustable rear sight. Night sights yes, but stock adjustable, no. I suppose somewhere they sell them that way.

Also I have a g34 too. It shot tight precise groups but not accurate. A few inches off bullsey at 7-10 yards. So I adjusted the sights and it was fine. Everybody’s razzing you because your description sounds like a baby but don’t let it get to you. Glock is a great $500 gun. It is plastic, machine made, loose, and cannot be compared to a 1911. But in this day and age once you spend a few hundred dollars, todays metallurgy and machinery is great and you’re not getting a lot more accuracy spending more than $500 on a gun. Definitely you’ll get a little from 500-1000. Very little after spending more than $1000. Guns are just all well made today once you spend $500 or so. Enjoy it and shoot well!

Also as mentioned you may want to practice with a coach or practice dry trigger pull like the penny trick to get a good trigger pull and make sure you’re pulling with the pad not the knuckle smoothly and continue all the way after the trigger breaks.

Enjoy! Oh if you want the feel of a 1911 you’ll have to buy a 1911. Striker fire trigger are like jello . Blech.

Any accurate gun is for shooting bullseyes. My g34 gives one big ragged hole for me when Iím shooting regularly. Not so much when Iím
Out of practice.

I had a G34 gen4 FDE. After a few trips to the range, I sold to another CalGunner who would appreciate more than I could.

I have never met a factory handgun that will not shoot 4" groups at 25 yards. I have seen a lot of shooters who can't.

OP, all of the issues you are describing sound like you need to take a class, and build both mental and physical callouses.

Or just do the American thing and throw more money at the problem.

The plastic adjustable rear sights come standard on the Practical Tactical models. I got them on my G41, G17L, and 40 MOS slides. It is common. More common on those models than night sights IMHO. The sights do get you on target without having to drift them... but if you want to drift them one way or the other they move easy because all the plastic sights tap right out with minimal pressure. If OP was super bothered by the adjustment gap being far to one side he could move the sight easily.

If you cant shoot double action consistently you will never shoot a stock Glock trigger well. Do not prep a glock trigger. Pull straight through the trigger like you would a double action. Dont try and "feel" the trigger. When you pull a Glock trigger fast through the wall it will feel much much lighter and precise as thats how the trigger was designed to shoot. I have had 3 g34's all hit sub 2.5" at 25 with wwb ammo, a o.d. green pistol would put round after round on a 2" plate at 25 yards. Practice is the only thing that will help you with any handgun.

You got a lemon. Mine is very accurate and a dream to shoot. Gen 4, not that this should matter.

op, don't buy glock for shooting. it's fantastic for glock throwing so you don't have to waste ammo.

Any Glocc fanboi will let you know that you are insufficiently manly - you are limpwristing the gun.

That's the diagnosis for *any* perceived glock malf.

On a serious note I dumped my G34 in favor of my G17. Found the 17 was faster on target and easier to shoot. That is just me but I prefer the 17 over the 34.
