Default Looking for a place to shoot in Palm Springs

I have a bachelor party in Palm Springs in the first weekend of January and we're looking for some public lands to legally shoot our rifles and pistols. I've never shot guns outside of a range. Can you guys help with locations? I know this isn't considered high desert, but you guys might be the best shot I have.

I've been googling, but a lot of the information seems dated.
Any help you guys can offer will be appreciated.

The canyon spots off Dillon road have been gated off by the water district.

How about just off the 111 coming into Palm Springs

That canyon on the West side past Whitewater

I see people shooting there from time to time

That sucks, but not surprised. Very trashy. Thanks for the update

Not for long. The trashy people that messed up Steele peak have moved on and have trashed berdoo canyon. I swear these people are like locusts. Pick up after yourselves! You're not at home people!
