I didn't see one while handling one, i looked on the s&w Manuel and didn't see any mention.

Use your Google-Fu grasshopper...

S&W Bodyguard .38 does not have the hideous "hillary hole"

Purists will be pleased that the gun has no internal lock, something that has been common on S&W revolvers for some time now and has irritated many by its very presence.

I know the newer S&W revolvers now come with locks, but the bodyguard model I was talking about is the polymer framed newer model 38 caliber revolver.

I have a few j framed S&W revolvers that didn't have the internal lock, and I also have some with the lock ( no problems so far ) -.

I have the Scandium, Titanium, and of course airweight models.

Thank you

I bought an on roster S&W 642 mainly because it did not have a lock I think the 642 and 442 come both ways on roster. If only lock versions were available if of just found an off roster one PPT like I did with my prelock 640 and 38 and 638.

I have yet to buy a S&W with a lock and will only do so if given away or a model that did not come as prelock and I really want.

I weighed both of my s&w revolvers - and the polymer frame Bodyguard weighs the same as my airweight 638 j-frame revolver, they both weighed. 14.5 oz ( unloaded ), and 16.5 oz loaded with 125gr Golden Saber +P ammo ( 5 rounds ).

I thought the polymer framed Bodyguard was going to be lighter - oh well there both nice guns.

Thank you ~
