Default Gun buyback in Daly City

Just passed the billboard on my travels. Any chance a broken airsoft gun would get taken?

Looks like they are only taking things made by Glock.

How will they know they are functional? Test fire?

"Funds are limited". Oh, wait, we just ran out - now you are under arrest.

They do realize they are promoting crime/theft, right? Not that they really care about crime.

Only pay for 3 guns. No self respecting criminal that is going to turn in guns has only 3. I would like to send a thank you to these clowns for turning bad guys with guns into bad guys with $100. Oh wait never mind. This crap doesn't work.

Is a striped AR15 receiver a California defined "assault rifle" by or just a rifle? And what if it had a bullet button?
It's funny seeing the first buy backs that they collected everything but now they only want working firearms and scary guns.

There is no such thing as a "California defined Assault Rifle". But of course they will give you $200 for a scary black rifle cause they "know not what they do."

They generally will try to see if functional just by looking at it and cycling the action. If obviously it won't fire then no money. Or if missing major parts required for it to fire.

I think they would only do that if gun was for sure illegal like a sawed off shotgun. I have actually brought a gun to a buyback and then refused to give it to them due to the policies and demanded it back. A standard legal firearm. Cop was being a Mitch but did it. I asked him for one of the free gun locks also being given out he pouted and refused haha.

This was in old days when you could walk up with guns. None do that it seems anymore you drive up with it in trunk. This was a weird one being done by city of El Monte they wanted ID to turn in gun I refused.

I saw somewhere else where instead of “California defined assault rifle” it said “automatic weapons”. They really think people are gonna turn in an automatic weapon for $200? Other than heavily licensed dealers, who even has full auto weapons in commiefornia?

Yes and other stuff that a criminal could convert into a homemade weapon! Potential deadly items like a rifle stock's,springs, barrels, etc. Even things like a worn disconnector or slide stop could be put into deadly service by a resourceful criminal.

Remember criminals are smart and it would best to get this stuff off the street. Personally I secure these items until someone thinks they are dangerous enough to buy back from me.

It would be fun to bring in a large box of worn parts and try to get money, gift cards or sneakers for those parts saying a criminal could easily convert them into homemade weapons!
