I am sure Sacramento County has been inundated with CCW apps. I just went on their web site to schedule an appointment and the earliest is September! Then it could take up to 120 days after that! Yes "Shall Issue" if you have a lot time to wait it out!

Hey all; new to Cal Gun; just scanned through and did a search on live scans but did not find anything. Does anybody know if you have had live scans done in the past for Govt clearance, school district to transport your daughters basketball team around and fire department clearance; do you need another? It seems like there would be a database they could have or this is a money maker for them.

I believe that unless it was done by your issuing county you would have to have a new one done. I had one in Sutter County for a previous CCW and one for Yuba County for employment at the Sheriffs Department. I still had to do a new one for Sacramento County.

Unfortunatley most agencies do not share scan information. I have been inked or live scanned at least 4 times this past year for one reason or another... If you apply for a CCW, you will have to get live scanned again.

After a couple of hours searching other threads I did find one that had what looked like on PC section stating something to the fact that the agency you are scanning for cannot ask you for another if you have already done one for that same agency and purpose.

I got appoved from sac county today to spend $122. My interview was march 3rd. I hope DOJ and FBI say I can spend another $80 so I can exercise 2nd Amendment. oh and my sixteen hours training of course.

Had my interview on 3/3. They cashed my check a week later. Now every day the mail comes I get a little excited and then a little disappointed.

Did the detective tell you they had the meeting or how do you know they had a meeting that day? Would they be reviewing your application the same day 3/16 for approval/denial or will you have to wait until the next panel meeting? Any idea when the next panel meeting is? Thanks in advance for any info and sorry for all the question, I'm just curious.

For you all new approvees (did I invent a new term?), set your "final appointment" for 4 weeks after you do your Live Scan... if you're already or going to be done with training by then. It'll take about 3 1/2 weeks to get the hard copy from DOJ and FBI and send you the final letter...

Initial interview: 3/10
Approved: 3/21 (Letter was dated 3/17)

Woo hoo! Going to livescan this week. Just to confirm, I just go to the office to get a livescan? Do I need to book an appointment with DOJ?

You just go to one of the Sheriff's Service Centers listed on your approval paper. You may have to wait a few minutes, depending upon the number of people ahead of you. Once it's your turn, it should take you all of about 15 minutes.

Every other post is you asking for updates each day.

The general consensus is that it takes about 2 months start to finish from initial appointment to issuance. It varies for each applicant from start to finish depending on how and when the schedule their appointments in conjunction with completing the necessary training.

Just finished my livescan. The operator handed me back 2 of the 3 copies, all signed. On the bottom, it lists one copy is for the livescan operator, one for requesting agency (sac sheriff I assume) and lastly mine.

Do I need to mail a copy to Amber? Or do I give it to her during my final appointment?

You need to ether mail a copy to Amber or take a copy to the front desk at the sheriffs office and ask that it be given to Amber.

Many thanks to all the contributors to this site. Got through the approval process smoothly as a result.

Does anyone know of a CCW class that will do CA, NV & UT at the same time? I'm sure I saw mention of a class, but can't seem to find it now.

I don't know of anyone doing CA, NV and UT all together though.
