Shouldn't really matter anyways since there are no final issuance appointments. And post above me is right, it wasn't the same day. Just be patient

CCW appointments were added today, 1/24/14

It says last added 1/22, but this is incorrect.

Amber Wong, but honestly it's really early for you. The process can take up to 90 days and is completely normal.

SSD CCW is backed up with stacks of these applications on their desk.

DOJ's auto line has nothing to do with the required manual letters being sent to SSD.

I got an issue appointment for the 29th they had a lot of times open for that day at the time I logged on at around 1:00 PM. The 5th was also open but I did not look to see how many appointments were on that day.

Correct. 90 days from the point of clearance not from the point of LiveScan.

FWIW, my livescan cleared in 3 days, but SSD still has not received a manual letter. It's been well over 90 and Ms. Wong is doing everything that she can. It is up to DOJ at this point.

Heck, my buddy Bainter did his well after I did and he already has his issuing appt scheduled. Things happen and all I can do is wait.

When I did my life scan the Marconi office the lady there told me to fax my third copy to Amber. But the form says to either send it to Kilgore 65th st or Marconi offices I thought they already had a copy at Marconi because I only have 2 left?

Had my issuance today. I ask how they liked the new location. The gentleman said is is great so far they seem to be able to do twice the load there. So the hopes are to get folks thru the process quicker and more of them. Of course they are at the mercy of the live scan process for total time. We should be happy we live in a county that issues to its people. These folks at the Sheriff department are doing the best they can to meet the demands.

Received my final email 1/28. Amber totally hunted down what was delaying my clearance. That team really does work hard for the applicants and there are a lot of things out of their control.

One thing that I've learned from this experience is patience. This delayed process actually gave me time to sell my firearms and actually get the pistols that I wanted. Now I get to qual with them and have them on my permit.

Just got my permit today. Initial appt was in October.

The new office is nice. They were training new people as well so it looks like they will be able to handle an increased volume of applicants. Still no weapons mods on your permit at this time.

Smile Initial CCW appointment

I went in and did my initial CCW application interview today. The new Sacramento Sheriff unit on Hurley is wonderful. All personnel are courteous, attentive, and get the process rolling efficiently and quickly. I applaud their efforts in accommodating the public so well now.

Scheduled my final issuance appointment for later this month. All told the process will have taken 3 months. Thanks to the shared collective wisdom on this forum it made the process as quick and painless as it could be. Thanks again to everybody for their help.

Unhappy Catch 22 on renewal appointment

Tried to schedule a renewal appointment on line. The on line system does not recognize drivers license associated with permit, and thus defaults to offering an appointment for a new CCW. New and renewal are a different process, so renewal can't schedule for a new permit.

Email to Amber says contact webmaster to ask why this is happening. Ambers database shows current permit and DL, but webmasters database is different and she can't access it. Webmaster says yep, DL not linked to a current permit, so you must not have one and need to schedule for a new CCW appointment. I say I can't since it is a renewal. I have asked webmaster how to correct the problem and link the DL to an existing permit, but no response.

I have asked both Amber and webmaster how to resolve this issue. Amber correctly directed me to webmaster, but all they do is confirm the problem. Sigh! ! !

So schedule an appointment for a new permit. When you get there, explain the situation to them.....I am sure they will do your renewal then and there.

It's inappropriate to have referred you to the web guys. That's an internal agency issue. Time to escalate. CCW comes under Special Investigations/Intelligence Bureau. Send an email to: SIIB/sacsheriff.com. Explain the situation and ask that they work with their web guys to fix this.

Cheers.

This is not the way to go. The package they start before you even get there takes effort. We don't need to have them waste the time.

Try the webmaster first. If you don't get anything there, then ask Amber to intervene.

Amber was the person who referred me to the webmaster. Webmaster responded confirming that their database did not associate the DL with an active permit. I responded to webmaster asking what was necessary to correct so we could get a Renewal appt., but no response as of yet. Sent second email, cc'd Amber and siib@sacsheriff.com.

Good - I think you're taking the right route on this. I'm hoping that they will find a way to sync the databases.

My wife had initial appointment the third week on November and hasn't heard yet. My understanding is that the DOJ is the reason for the hold up. They pretty much spoon feed you that personal protection and protection of family is good cause.

Question. So you went to Sheriffs office, turned in the app, and that's as far as you've gotten? I'm assuming you're not waiting on Livescan at this point.
