I turned in my app today and the gentleman at the counter had me do the opposite of you on a few things as stated in bold above. The not signing the document portion left me with a bad feeling, as if thay can now say, "you never signed the app so we tossed it". I had direct instruction from him not to sign it..... |

As much as I'm dying to get my app in to get a place in line, I'm probably going to hold off a week or so until they get everyone on the same page down there. I'd rather wait a bit longer and rest easy knowing that everything was submitted properly, rather than have my app tossed for following the wrong instructions and having to start all over.

And yes, to confirm what other's have said, the clerk instructed me to fill out the application completely (Meaning, ignore the instruction that tells you to skip questions) and either hand deliver it or mail it in without the fee or proof of residency.

Are they not taking fees so the clock doesn't get started? Should we send fees anyway to start the 90 day clock?

Hopefully mine will be quicker since they just ran the LiveScan when I applied in Sept 2013 And, denied in Nov. 2013 due to Self-Protection as not being a viable good cause
We'll see this time! Dropping off the entire packet, filled out, tomorrow!

Watch, next they will say, oh, you need to submit the fees. We are going to send back all the applications we already received. and then your place in line for an interview will be determined by your cash donation to Gore's campaign. This is bull****

Do we HAVE TO list firearms at this initial application which isn't really an application? Has anyone actually spoken to this?

I had the same question but another CGer said it is not needed until/if you pass the application.

Lot of half empty glass folks here. Submit your application, it's free. Chances are Peruta will go final, and you will have your CCW if you are really a law abiding citizen. A month ago we were far from this point. In another month, CCW for the citizens!
We have a long way to go to really have a free state, but you should be part of that effort to take back your rights! We will take it back, one step at a time. |

And if Peruta doesn't become final, we still have the Sheriff seeing an ENORMOUS response during an election year. He may well suck it up and start issuing just to avoid the bad publicity

I doubt we will. They had to have had so many appointments stacked up, I bet they just deleted everything. And who cares? Apply tomorrow, apply on March 7th, apply when you had the appointment. Whatever feels right!

Just to be clear... everyone is turning in four pages, correct? There are thirteen in all, but six have nothing to fill in, two are for nothing but signatures, and one is only to list firearms to be put on the permit, leaving four with actual information. Just want to be sure I don't get turned away for missing but blank pages.

I'm a current MP in the reserves. Do I put " self defense" also.?
Technically I should be covered under HR218/LEOSA. But they won't give me I.D showing i'm a peace officer.

I turned in the whole application package. Filled in everything except the signatures. Included the most likely 3 EDCs. Why make them hunt around for the missing pages. They just have to sign, take my cash, confirm background and training, and give me the permit.

I went in and dropped off my application this morning. I had 2 copies with me; 1 signed and 1 not signed. I handed the clerk (who was very nice) the signed copy and she reviewed it to make sure it was in fact signed in all 3 places. She did tell me that they received quite a few mail-in applications that didn't have the 3rd signature. I turned in all 13 pages.
She stapled the packet and date stamped the last page and told me that I was in the "2nd day" stack and the first day stack was quite large. She let me know that they are still awaiting an official mandate and that once they have one they will be contacting people in the order that their applications were received. For those of us who made an appointment by phone, they are setting up an automated dialer with a message to let people know that their appointments are cancelled and about the new process (mail-in or in person). |

When I called Monday for an appointment, which was the policy at the time, I was told to instead mail in all pages, but DO NOT SIGN ANY.
Things are changing so fast it will be interesting to see how they reconcile all of these different instruction sets.

It won't effect me, as I have already turned in my app but...
A friend pointed out that in the section where you list the guns you would like to carry there are slots for 3, but in the instructions it says "Use additional pages if necessary". so...

San Diego County policy is currently only 3. We will have to wait until after Peruta to see how many of their "policies" stay in place. Some of which are illegal, including asking for proof of residence.

I just dropped off my app. They took just the four pages that I had filled out. The clerk just looked them over to make sure that they were filled out, stapled them together, stamped it, and added it to a pile. I asked how many they were getting, and someone who was walking by responded grumpily, "Too many"

I don't think the signing or not is going to matter.
No reason it cannot be signed again in front of someone when they call you in.

I turned mine in about 10am. The clerk took a quick look and stamped the back with the date. I mentioned that I had an August appointment, he told me that I may or may not get a robot call to advise that the appointments are canceled and the new policy of taking applications.

I turned mine in around 11AM. Nothing special, just told by the clerk that everything needed to be filled out and that lots of people have been turning in applications.
Not sure if anybody else did this, but under the section of CCW Licenses, I attached a page listing all my licenses. The instructions weren't clear if they wanted just one or all of them. |

Just got back from dropping off my application. I did not sign or date, and the clerk browsed through to verify it was filled out properly then date stamped the back. When I asked I was told my Sept appointment made via phone on Monday had been canceled along with others that had been made by phone.

I just got done dropping my application off at 3:55pm. I filled out sections 1-5 and did not sign anything. When I was called up, the clerk had me fill out section 7 and sign on the three different spots for "applicant signature"
