Going to BLM to do some shooting June 13th, Who wants to tag along?
Monday June 13th. 8:00-10:30 AM. Still working out some details, but that day should work out for me. Its going to be warm the next few weeks, so we are heading out early morning. Don't forget to bring water, and a hat. This trip we are just planning on shooting, but we will obviously pick up any trash we see while we are out there. I plan on heading out to a spot that would be best for people with trucks. If you have a car, you can park it and hitch a ride with one of us with higher clearance vehicles.
Send me a PM or email if you would like to come along with your contact info, so I can keep track of who's coming. . We usually meet at a neutral location near by to stock up on last minute supplies , then caravan to the spot. Location is about 35 minutes from downtown San Diego. New shooters welcome! I'll bring some extra .22lr. Some more general info: If you are coming out, some good things to bring are: comfortable clothes, durable shoes or boots(no flip flops), a hat and sunglasses, work or gardening gloves, sunscreen, water or drinks, snacks or food that does not need to be cooked, black trash bags, large bucket or cardboard box to put bag in, in case it rips, small grocery bag or bucket for brass, small plastic rake for clay, shovel, metal screen, tarp, first aid kit for possible small cuts scrapes, small chair , small trash can, and don't forget eyes and ears for shooting, and ammo, retrievable targets like steel or bowling pins, etc.. Not all these things are necessary, because most people will have some things and probably would not mind sharing. It is also extremely dry out there, so bring a shovel and a fire extinguisher if you have one, and extra water just in case. These are pretty fun and casual events, but safety will always be paramount. Anyone or anything that seems unsafe or irresponsible will immediately cancel the clean up/ shoot. That is another reason why we meet in a public place first and get to know everybody heading out.We usually touch bases at quarterly Meet & Greets too. I do not mind you bringing a friend, just let me know in advance so I know how many people to expect. Some spots are only reachable by high clearance vehicles like trucks, some are accessible to most non lowered cars, and some will have to be hiked to and from on foot. SO not having a 4x4 does not preclude you from being able to get to some of these places. I will try my best to clarify depending on which location is planned. Please DO NOT share our locations in open online forums, or with irresponsible people. They are the ones that are messing up they few areas we have left, and make our job that much harder. Thank you , and look forward to seeing you out there!

I am staying tuned. Hopefully it will stay open for a few more weeks . Once it gets hot calfire will usually post fire restrictions, which is what BLM is supposed to base their closures on.
Worst case , we meet at sbrgc, and have fun there.
