Default GLOCK knuckle no more

Has anyone ever experienced the infamous GLOCK knuckle? I have several times being a student at Front Sight. I vowed to find a solution or a new gun. My quest led me to the under cut trigger guard. Expensive to have done but easy to do yourself. I just did another one today.
I have done several under cuts and have even rounded trigger guards as well with great success. The technique is simple. Sand paper, wood dowells, a Dremil and pacients.

1)Cover the grip and entire receiver with blue tape. Cover the trigger guard in all areas not being reshaped. Slips can ruin a frame aesthetically and worse.
2)Use the Dremil tool with a quick connect cut off wheel. The wheel is to be put on up side down so the lable is on the bottom. Slowly grind off only the bulge at the bottom of the trigger guard by using the flat top of the wheel to flatten the bump.
3)Tape 150 grit sand paper around the dowell so that 3/4ths of the dowell surface is sand papper and the last quarter is masking tape.
Slowly saw back and forth with the tape side of the dowell riding on the blue tape at the grip. Only the bottom of the trigger guard is being altered. The goal is to make more room for the "bird" to fit under the trigger guard better making a higher, more comfortable grip.
4)When you get a desired height, angle the dowell at 45° on both sides to give a taper.
5)Change to 220, grit Then 320 only to get rid of sanding marks.
6)Hold the dowell steady and rock the receiver side to side rounding the finger groove smooth.
7)Last is the 600 grit with your finger to remove marks. Start with wet paper on your index finger on the new finger grove and pull away in one direction. Turn the receiver around and repeat in other direction.
8) Finish with a rag or your t-shirt and some elbow grease. Create some good friction with speed and pressure. It should should shine.
I promise you will never get GLOCK knuckle ever again.
If it scares you and you are in my neck of the woods I can do it for you.
Will post pictures tomorrow.

Yep. And if you get Glock knuckle enough times, your middle finger adapts itself and ends up a little crooked and kinda weird looking

I just added pictures of the one I own (with the round trigger guard) and the one I did yesterday. This is not to hard to do...

Perfect timing... Shot my G23 for the first time yesterday and was quite surprised at the beating my finger took from the guard. Doing something about it was on today's list of things to do...

Most folks will never shoot enough to feel the need. If you shoot thousands of rounds per year it's a hole new animal. I train a lot, sometimes a thousand in a week when preparing for a class.

Bro, you need to do an instructional video and post it up on YouTube. I think that you'd get a great response and to see it in real time would make it easier to replicate/follow along, too. Nice job.

I understand the knuckle problem well, and was always hesitant about doing it because I thought the inside of the trigger guard was hollow and would get a hole there I'd I went to far. I will give this a go since I've got all the tools...

By the way, what was the diameter of the dowell you used? Thanks.

The trigger guard is solid and strong, sand away. Rounding is easy too. Dremil off the major bump and then use a flat surface and sand paper. As advised above, taking it off is the easy part. My next mod will be a texture job.

Oh yeah, same concept for the moose knuckle, more room = less discomfort.

It took me more time to read the first post than it does for me to undercut a glock frame.
I just clamp it in the vise and run a ball endmill in to create the undercut.
Easy as pie...

I would love to do a video but I'm out of GLOCKs. Anyone want a freebie rounded, under cut trigger guard give me a pm. It will take about half an hour.

Ok, someone else has come to me wanting an under cut and rounded trigger guard. Some time next week I should be posting a video if I can figure out how... I will be installing a new Ghost Inc "EDGE" trigger connector and bullet slide release as well.
Stay tuned.

After looking at my "Glock knuckle" (red mark on finger) after firing 50 rounds from my new G23, it looked to me like just the right side of the guard needed to be shaved. Have used files to taper the guard from right to left.

Will report on how works next time I go shooting.
