If you are going to do this yourself i can not stress enough the importance of prep and taking your time.

Like others have said before me.

Buy a dozen water guns for $2.99 each and practice practice practice...

I think if you scrub it hard enough, the black cleans off

From what I've read, duracoat is the way to go. Krylon is just a paint, wheras I believe duracoat behaves more like a layer of epoxy (minus the whole catalyst thing). Krylon can scratch off, peel off, and be destroyed in any number of ways. Duracoat is made for firearms, and designed to be subjected to harsh conditions.

Given, I have not used duracoat. I have used krylon though, and it is excellent paint. I just don't think I'd want to use paint of any sort on a firearm.

Regarding pink glocks, I think I might get one for my girlfriend someday, after I graduate college and get a real job. Probably a subcompact, she likes "cute" guns. Maybe with a nickel or chrome plated slide.

I like the one with the two tone with the black slide added bonus: it will definitely keep homophobes from stealing it.

If you're going to paint a gun pink, it may as well be a Glock.

Yeah, you and Mace Windu.

I'm getting a big kick out of all the replies. I think pink looks every bit as good as some of the guns I've seen done in sage, by which I mean neither are my style. But if someone I loved wanted a pink gun and I knew it would make them enjoy shooting more I would be bookmarking this thread for research purposes.

One of the reasons we're all here is because we want to make OUR OWN guns. We want the guns we like to our specifications.

With regards to Ewelyn Beatrice Hall...

I disapprove of what you plan to do with your gun, but I will defend to the death your right to duracoat it.

My glock always turns a little pinkish after being stored next to the 1911 for a few days. I fancy a desert eagle may be what you need...
