This is such a great idea that I have to get in on it! Thank you for starting this Hdawg!

I can offer 50 rounds of .22 to each of the first 10 parents or grandparents that shows me a receipt for the purchase of the best Christmas present ever! (My youngest is getting his first this year also.)

I'm located in Woodland but I work in West Sacramento

I just want to be clear on MY offer. I don't need the potential taker of free ammo to buy a new rifle or handgun. Instead, I trust that ammo is really needed to train a kid or multiple kids. Local pick up in Burbank and proof that kids were trained using the ammo are all I ask.

When I was searching for ammo this past summer to train my kids, I posted a Want To Buy ad and many CalGunners stepped up to sell at reasonable prices. My kids had a great summer. I just want to give back to the community.

In the spirit of the holidays and community I'll donate a box of 50 rounds to someone giving a 22 as a gift to a loved one in either the Redlands area or Palm Springs area. Please be able to show me a reciept for the purchase. Happy holidays.

Jason, I just saw your post. I would be happy to give you some ammo for the kids. Send me a PM and we can coordinate a time and place to meet up so I can give it to you.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks to a suggestion from trigger945, I have also posted this in the WTS Ammo forum. Trigger has a post in there about it, too. Anyone who has posted here and not received a response might want to post there as well.

I have also posted this with a link to this thread at rimfirecentral.com

Wow!! You guys are awesome! Just bought my daughter a 10/22 for Christmas -- luckily I was able to buy 100 rounds from someone (but at a very steep price). You guys will make a lot of kids happy this Christmas!

Kirsten Weiss said she is going to post up a link to this thread on her Facebook page to help get us some exposure too. Not sure how many of her followers are in CA, but maybe it will inspire people in other states to start doing something similar.

I'm willing to donate some ammo too. Also, if there's anyone in the area that has kids but doesn't yet have a gun for them or the funds for a gun and would like to go shoot with my son and I, let me know. My son is 10 and we go shoot up in Forest Hill off of Finning Mill Rd. every once in a while. I've got a 22 bolt action for the kids and a couple thousand rounds.

I'll match the 5/50 for San Fernando Valley and near by areas. Simply meet me at Oak Tree and I'll buy the ammo and a target. I'll even go further and rent the rifle if you do not already have one.

To those who are seeking ammo, this is a win-win. Just buy a .22 rifle (or maybe not depending on the conditions stated above), beat the 12/31 deadline for registration, teach a kid how to shoot it safely and properly, get free ammo and have fun!

Oh wait, that's actually a win-win-win-win-win! No losing here!
Unless you're a gun grabber, then it's a bigger win for us!

You should look into going to an "Appleseed" event in your area. Kids are free I think, dad's are like $80 for the weekend. Well worth it.

I shoot at Barnwood and could help out as well. Not sure about your training request, but am willing to try to help on that as well. On Sunday's I assume you are going to Manteca or Linden. I have shoot at both and would be willing to meet up.

I just bought my gf a 10/22 takedown for christmas, I don't have much 22lr left, does that count for anything, wanna take her to burro canyon after we pick it up. I've been hunting Wal-Mart's all over and got lucky once with only one small tiny box

I hope I am not stretching the boundaries too much, but I would like to offer the following deal in North San Diego County. I will give a Federal 525 bulk pack to any parent or grandparent who needs it to take their children or grandchildren shooting. What I ask is that you either donate some food to one of the food drives or a toy to Toys for Tots.

No need for it to be for a new firearm purchase, just that it be used for a family outing and that you need it. Posting pictures here of the children shooting would be appreciated.

I would like to limit this to one or two families, but I might soften up for a really good Tiny Tim type of story.

I am adding Riverbank/Collegeville and Lake Tulloch area. Pictures posted of the ammo being used by the gifted child would be a bonus...

i am also inspired by this thread - i will break up a 525 box of Remington golden bullets into five zip lock bags for any west l.a. area parent or grandparent. i'll also except birthday, hanukah or other holiday gift. As others have stated Id rather keep our sport going for our younger generation and trust in that the average calguner is not going to scam me for 70 rounds of .22lr so some kid wont have fun with his/her family

requirement:
1) proof of age, i.d. check - sorry kids im sure your mommy REALLY is buying you a 10/22 from big5
2) receipt of firearm - don't care if its a pistol or long gun
3) post pics on calguns

if you do all these I promise another zip lock bag for more pics the next time you take the kiddies out waiting on the first five PM's

big respect to Hdawg & CSA Cannoneer for this holiday idea. thanks calguner!

I went to get a 22lr earlier this year. The clerk behind the counter just laughed because there hadn't seen any ammo for months. I got one any way, paid way to much for ammo but got to take my boy for his first shoot. His comments were that it was the best day of his life.

CalGuns is a great community! I'm glad some other kids will get to experience their first shoot this Christmas.

I have 50 rounds to give in the Hayward, Union City Area. No real requirements just have a kid/kids that you want to take shooting. New or old 22 doesn't matter.

First off, THANKS Hdawg and everyone else! I have to explain the SELFISH reason I did this last year was to one up some moron who got upset with a .22lr ammo for sale thread and accused me of price gouging. However, I've always had fun sharing my firearms and ammo when helping new shooters so, my offer was a no brainer for me. Anyway, I had as much or more fun watching Fate's 8 year old son and 14 year old daughter shoot than they had shooting. So, I had to do it again.

Hey, if anyone takes you up on your offer, maybe we can all meet at my place and shoot on the 28th. So far, that is the tentative date that my recipient is going to come over and get his ammo. It would be cool to have two kids and two NRA instructors present to help them both out. If not, no need renting a rifle, I can loan you a Anshultz or a Remington youth rifle if you need it.

The more I think about this and read all of the other generous offers that people are putting out there, the more I think I need to amend my offer. It doesn't matter if you're buying a child a rifle or not, I have some ammo to give if it will get a kid to the range. Some of my best childhood memories are shooting with family. So if you would like to introduce a child to shooting or if you're looking to spend some quality time with a child that already shoots and you can't seem to find the ammo to do it, let me know.
