I was at the 29 Palms match with several of the SMGC executive committee. They are making progress. I have seen the draft shooting calendar. It's coming!
The DBIDS window is on the agenda of items that are being ironed out. |

Nothing can be open or "official" till they sign the operating lease which is scheduled to occur in mid January.

I saw it coming when 30-06 was nixed from the Wilcox range. I let my membership expire and now the club has priced itself out of my league. But that's ok, I can still shoot at Castaic. It's about the same mileage from home but I don't have to worry about a stinking DIBS card and the cost to shoot is about half for he same course of fire. I wish them luck.

Lease agreement is due to be finalized In May, the lease is in a environmental and property review that must be completed before the license agreement can be executed
There is a match scheduled for May 4th and 5th 1000 yard LR F class (3x1000) and a Precision rifle match. Dbids is still a 30 day pass but they are working on 12 month cards. Dbids system will not issue a 12 month pass to an organization that doesn't have a lease agreement in place. So we are at the mercy of the system. Things are moving forward far better than they were 12 months ago. The club is coming up on 18 months of non operation. I think we should feel fortunate we still have a club. After everything these guys have been through to make this happen. Last edited by kcstott; 04-21-2019 at 10:59 AM.. |
