Default Lease agreement signed Full speed ahead

I was informed by our board of directors that SMGC is in full operational status and the lease agreement has been signed.

To all the "Wait and see" people out there. The wait is over, SMGC is good to go full speed ahead

The club has been in operation under a special agreement allowing limited operation. That agreement is now superseded by the lease renewal. The club is a fully recognized and operational entity on the base now.

So sign up. and come out and shoot with us.

Disciplines supported

Bullseye pistol NRA and CMP sanctioned
Mid range 500-600yrd NRA high power, F Class open, and T/R
CMP/NRA Across the course (XTC)
CMP Garand, Springfield, & Military
Long range NRA high power, F Class open and T/R
and Practical Precision rifle/pistol

The club is working on Extreme long range support. Along with Black powder cartridge, and other disciplines in the future

Good work.

Now see if you can get Vado del Rio (or a new trap/skeet facility) open again.

That would fall under MCCS' recreational shooting purview. They have both a rifle and pistol recreational shooting venue on base.

The problem isn't the lease, it's the range authorities who frequently shut down or delay matches over some obscure regulation. Sometimes the marines just cancel the matches and fail to inform smgc. The smgc tries but the hoops just seem to grow each match.

I hope that's changed as it's the best place to hold a match in Socal.

i just went to the website and they denote a fee for civilians, tried to call and left a message....but hoped to clarify....must civilians be accompanied by current or retired military or are there provisions for non military affiliation?

thanks

You need base access first, that means signing up on practiscore or becoming a annual member, that will get you on a list that allows you to obtain a pass.

The days of showing up at the base, tell in the MP where you were going and they let you in are over. no one gets on base without an escort or a background check with a sponsor. i.e. a valid reason to be on the base. SMGC can sponsor now.

new trap and skeet possibly but I have no idea. As for the old place I believe it was a lead mitigation issue that caused the closure.
