Smile My first gun!

Pew pew pew!

Haven't shot it yet but took it home then cleaned and oiled it. So it's now ready to go for the range.

Congrats on your first gun Kalakaua

I myself am in the process of purchasing my first gun (pistol) as well. I have been going to ranges and shooting many different guns from double/single actions, semi-auto striker fire, to revolvers. I have been leaning towards a semi-auto so far..

Ya got me beat, my first gun was a Mosin Nagant. Congratulations, good choice. http://kitup.military.com/2012/08/pi...-training.html

I almost bought a Mosin Nagant as my first firearm because it was dirt cheap, but then soon realized I wouldn't really have many opportunities to shoot it due to the urban area I live in. My room mate got a Mosin and only shot it once out in the high deserts. Since then it was been sitting in the garage collecting dust. Nice link john

Nice start.

Just wait until you can't remember your first couple of dozen and accidentally buy one back.

Thanks all ... and yes after going to my first calguns monthly shoot at LAX, I already want another gun. After hearing that .50 beowulf, I kinda want one.

@Felix168 - I wouldn't know about north cali, it's like a whole different state to me. I ended up contacting ffl's that would do the single shot exemption on it. Once I made my mind up on the model of gun, I started going through the list (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=383692) that was near my area and once I picked a ffl they helped me out.

Congrats on your first gun! Like everyone says, I hope it's first of many!

Do yourself a favor, get a safe, get some ammo and practice with that sucker!

When you're ready for your first rifle the AR is a good choice, but you should build a 5.56 before you go after the .50. Remember, they both work on the same lower. It's a much cheaper way to break into ARs! Plus, you should do your research about the availability of parts and ammo for the .50-

The first gun purchase is almost as exciting as a first car purchase! Congrats. Start putting aside money now, because you'll want more...

Congrats! It may be ready for the range but, you're not! You need to put some shoes on to protect your little toes from hot brass!

Really? I don't remember feeling excited during my first firearms purchase. But, it wasn't a big deal. Then again, buying firearms was more normal back then. There were firearms categories in every major liberal newspaper's classifieds. You could buy and sell them at garage sales or anywhere you wanted to. There was less gun violence and less mass shootings back then too!

I was given two guns when I was younger that were hand-me-downs... a .22 and a 12 ga. When I bought my very own first firearm, I was still very excited about it, and that was 12 years ago in Wisconsin Very normal there too. It was a brand new .30-06. Even now when I get a new gun, I'm very excited. Of course here... there is that 10 days of anticipation...

If you don't have a safe yet, BUY ONE NOW. Having to allocate those funds towards a metal box instead of another gun will be less painful that way.

My first gun was a mossberg 500. I now have 14 firearms and three lowers. This started about a year and a half ago.

Welcome to the party pal.

BTW, I also purchased an NRA lifetime membership. Hope you consider this and are able to do so along the way. Congrats on your first firearm - this is the coolest "hobby" in the world. This is my first post on Calguns!

Congrats on the first purchase! I just handled a Walther for the first time yesterday at EBR Works and liked the ergos. You'll have to give us a range report.

Cheers man! Enjoy the hell out of it and don't ever sell it like I did with my first pistol. I couldn't figure out what I wanted most between Glocks and M&P's, now I have both of course...
