No rumor...truth.

Last Saturday (first Saturday of May) was our monthly Multigun practice.

A good number of shooters showed-up, and practice was with a specific purpose in mind.

Mission accomplished!

This coming Saturday, May 11th, will be the annual range cleanup.

If you shoot here, helping on this day is your reasonable duty.

Folks will be on the grounds starting at 0800 hours.

If you can shoot, you can help. The more hands, the better.

See y'all there, shooters!!

OK, shooters,

Saturday, June 1st, will be the next multigun practice.

If I don't know you, or you are not qualified to shoot here, you will be turned away.

Be there or be square.

****URGENT UPDATE****

Shooters, the multigun practice will be cancelled for this Saturday, June 1st.

It was a last minute decision. My mother and sister-in-law were supposed to be flying-in on Friday...but their flight was delayed 24-hours. So now their arrival time is Saturday, noon time.

Just found out super early Friday morning.

Sorry about this last minute cancellation, but Mr Murphy works in mysterious ways.

See yall next month!!!

Shooters,

the multigun practice will be cancelled for this first Saturday of July. (Again).

July will be a super busy month for me, so I am taking the opportunity to backpack across the Lost Coast Trail in the Sinkyone Wilderness this weekend.

Hey...even papa needs some rest and relaxation sometime.

Keep your trigger fingers warm, as the BARC is at the end of the month.

Be there, or be square.

In Christ: Raymond

PS: It is 0410 hours, July 5th, and I am starting my 4+ hour drive now.

Enjoy the Sinkyone, Raymond!

I backpacked there several years ago. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

Thanks.

I had a good time.

It was pretty kewl to hit base camp, pass out...only to wake-up in the morning to a group of Roosevelt Elk grazing about 60 yards from me.

OK, shooters,

multigun practice Saturday, August 3rd.

I'm going to take another couple of days vacation to hit the Sierras before that. (Crossing my fingers). But I have coordinated my vacation to be back by Friday night...so I can be at the range for y'all on Saturday.

Hey...I understand. Boys gotta practice, right?

See y'all on the first Saturday of August!!!

***UPDATE***

Shooters,

Chris Nessinger will be running a "shotgun only" stage this Saturday.

This is a good idea, as the CASC is at the end of September.

Because of this, I am stepping away for the weekend on another backpacking trip. (Building up the legs for archery season).

So to make it clear...no Multigun practice this Saturday. There will only be a dedicated "shotgun only" practice with Chris. (Not sure which bay at the moment).

Sooooooooo...I will be back in September with a vengeance!

Below is my September schedule:

1st week - Multigun practice.
2nd week - Multigun Intro class.
3rd week - Multigun match. (Me & Geoff will be the MD's).
4th week - CASC. (Vince will be the MD).

See y'all in September!

In Christ : Raymond

This is one of the reasons I am backing out this weekend.

Chris had scheduled this practice, which I didnt know about. (One bay gone).

We have the "static line". (Another bay gone).

We have the pistolero's "action bay". (Another bay gone).

And the dark house is still up on bay 4. (Yet another bay gone).

This will leave no room for RO's to practice on - as there must be a bay or two left open for RO's to practice on during Saturdays. (Its a club thing...which is good)!!

So for me to step-in with a MG practice stage would be overkill. It is already tight enough as it is.

Anyhoo...yuup...looks like the shotgun practice will be on bay 1.

OK, shooters...

this first Saturday (September 7th) will be a multigun practice.

We have a multigun match on the third week, and the shotgun championships on the 4th week.

Default multigun match

Hey Raymond,
any details on this match? All I can find is a 'long gun' match on the 22 of Sept. on the hotshots calendar.

Ok. Let me rephrase: With regards to the long gun match listed on the hotshots calendar, is there any other information available? Thread? Link? Website? Telepathic messages from the MD? ??

Vince,
just looking for the basics; # of stages, round counts, ammo types required, etc. I see that Geoff has posted on the match now so, I'm good. Sorry I won't be able to help; running our DMG match that Sat.

OK, shooters...

it is starting to rain here now, and there is a chance that it will rain tomorrow as well.

Compound that with slightly above-freezing weather, and the fact that I will probably end-up building a stage with minimal attendance.

Multigun practice will be a No-Go this Saturday, December 7th.

Sorry guys, but it did not balance out for me. (Too much effort, with a high possibility of small attendance).

See y'all next month.

Merry CHRISTmas, and Happy New Year!!!

Excellent multigun practice last Saturday.

I started a bit late, but the stage was nice, and the bay was full.

I think we had almost 20 shooters out on Saturday, which was a great way to start off the 2014 year.

If you are interested in getting into multigunning, the next multigun intro class is next week, and there are only a few spots left open. (Click HERE for more info).

And for all you regular multigunners...excellent job. I will see yall next month.

Shooters,

there will be no multigun practice this weekend.

I ended-up getting the flu, and totally kicked it's butt in about a week.

But I fell ill to his twin brother, a respiratory tract virus. (Contagious).

So long story short, a weeks worth of penicillin, and an inhaler, are my pardners for the next few days.

Sorry shooters!

See y'all next month!!

Sorry, shooters...

but it has happened again. The gods are not looking down on us favorably.

It looks like there is rain in the forecast Wednesday through Saturday.

And bay 5 is horrible for swamp land and crocodiles.

Great practice today. Had about 15 shooters come to shoot.

The multigun stage was set to, predominantly, work on your shotgun skills...and they did.

You guys now have a better grasp of the flying clays, the spinner, and how to time your shooting with movement so you are always doing something...which shaves your overall time dramatically.

Great job, shooters.

Your freestyle rifle shooting is also improving dramatically. I am glad the small clays (representing distance) is helping you to have a better stance, a steadier hand, and learning what power to set your scopes at.. These are all things which are impossible to learn by just reading a book. You must physically do it to understand and grasp it.

And THANKS to those who arrived early to help build the stage, and then stuck around to tear everything down. There was a lot of steel (poppers, flippers, the spinner, pipes, plates w/rods, etc...) that would have been a bear for me to put away by myself.

Once again, you guys are kicking buttox, and are a great example to the other shooters...and even our own club RO's.

We are safe. We clean-up after ourselves. We maintain the stage even as we are shooting. We all help setting poppers and tape. And we all help to tear down the stage for the next stage builders to start with a clean sheet.

Once again, from the bottom of my heart, "THANK YOU"!
