We can't allow pick-up at the shop for various legal reasons. Let me figure something out for the first batch - maybe we can have a "pint and pick-up night" in Mira Mesa at Callahan's. It's close to the shop and centrally located in SD. Details to follow!

CNC80 Function Check - Here is our 80% built up into a 10.5" AR-15 pistol, 300 rounds test fired on BLM land in Imperial County this weekend. The very first magazine ever emptied from a JL BILLET lower for your viewing enjoyment:

Will my TM jig work on this? or do I have to buy another jig? I assume it will if your jig works on the TM, but we all know about assume . . .

Man Incognito,

I am working with Jimi on the machining side. I could help with shipping as I have a full warehouse to work with. I could also help FTF deliveries. Just PM me if interested.

Ours will work with TM but not the other way around - the TM jig would need material removed from the side plates and then a spacer added to increase the height. Another option would be one of the local build parties.

So will any jigs that are out there work with your lower? I have a CNC shop lined up who does lowers, and they say that they have a jig that works, but since yours is so new and the TM jig won't work on your 80%... which ones will?

This is a brand new custom lower. Any jig that is to be used that was not specifically designed for the CNC80.com lower will have to be modified to accommodate the flared magwell as well as the aforementioned spacer added. I would wait for CNC80.com jig since that one is designed for the job.

One that works with QD would be closest, but some material would have to be removed from the jig around the magwell relief area. I realize it is a PITA to have to buy a jig for each brand of 80%, that is why we are making our jigs work across a variety of popular paperweights, not just ours.

Good evening Xcountryrider,

Just fielding this one for Jimi if that's okay with you. If I recall correctly, the Superior lowers are very standard, so his jigs should work beautifully on them. I'm scheduling machining times for this Saturday. Check the link in my signature line. There are still six time lots available. Engraving is also available, but must be done at a later date. Just so everyone knows, you must have your own lowers to do your machining on. It is not an option to purchase your 80% lowers and finish them on Saturday.

Thanks for checking in.

I posted some new pics of a completed lower. Also have a close up of the upper tension set screw. Let me know what you think.

Meant to ask... Will a standard LPK from any of the many companies out there (RRA, DPMS MS, ext....) work with this, including the bolt catch and all. Or do you have to use the included hex screws and whatnot?

A standard LPK will work just fine. We include the set screw and pin for the bolt catch along with the other set screws for the upper tension, trigger reset slack, and rear take down pin spring. You won't need to hammer any roll pins in this lower to complete.

Sorry, I'm new to the 80%'s...I understand that other jigs will not work without modification. If I am using a CNC, will it work as is? Thanks

Technically you could finish your lower without jigs but you will have a lot more set up time getting everything squared up and true. A set of jigs makes it so much easier. I am almost finished with my jigs that will fit these lowers along with most others out there.

Yeah, hoping for build party somewhere near Sac. Waiting for more information on that. I talked to someone at the CNC80 shop the other day, he said he was going to provide a list of CNCshops in the area to help us with our build. Not sure about the jigs though. He mentioned something, but I forgot. oops.

223Junkie, I have a group buy going (closed now) with some Sac area guys, and we too are looking for somewhere to have a build party. I talked with one CNC guy who does AR's and he would be fine with it. Not sure how many we could get done in a day though. Once I visit his shop, I'll know more.

As for the jigs... unless the CNC guy has a jig that has been modified and will fit CNC80's lower... you would have to have one of CNC80's The magazine well is larger than milspec, so most jigs out there have to be modified somehow to fix the larger magwell.

Jigs are in the works guys. Should have some ready to ship in 2 weeks with the first orders. These jigs will accommodate the forgings and most billet lowers out there. One stop shop for jigs!

I'm in the bay area and am interested in a build party as well in the area. Near Sac is good with me. Please keep me posted.

Yes, ATF letter is in the works; exemplar was submitted by our attorney to ATF/FTB and we expect a response shortly. It has already been run by our attorney and a local ATF agent; "not a firearm." Thank you for your order!

Sent you guys another PM, sorry for the questions. Excited to get mine and get started.

Also, I haven't ordered a jig yet since I wanted to wait till photos were out, but how many sold/how many left? Might just place an order anyways, but would like to see some photos if at all possible.

Got your PM, thanks for your patience - we will get your order updated! Jimi is working on the jigs, probably some pics closer to the weekend. Yes, there is availability on jigs, no problem to add one to your order.
