Default Bay Area Ammo Transfers - LGS that will be your FFL

Starting a thread for what LGS will (and won't) be the FFL for ammo transfer when ordering ammo online. I'll work to keep this list updated if this thread grows.

Chains:
  • Big 5 - won't
  • Dicks Sporting Goods - won't
  • Sportsman's Warehouse (Milpitas) - only ammo ordered online on their site

LGS that won't:
  • Triple A's - won't
  • Coyote Point - won't
  • Canyon Sports - won't

LGS that will:
  • Elite Armory (Castro Valley) - open tues - sun. $10 per brand or caliber plus 10% of purchase price or $35, whichever is greater. https://elitearmory.com/
  • SC Guns (Santa Clara) - open tues-sun. $20 per 1000 rounds. They do partial fees as well such as $10 for 500. https://sc-guns.business.site/

LGS unknown:
  • Cordelia Gun Exchange - needs callback, only open tues - sat
  • Solar Tactical - needs callback, no answer on phone

FFL's that will

I use SC Guns. They accept online ammo transfer. They're open Tue-Sat.

There are some FFLs other than "LGS" (since they don't maintain a "shop") who will do ammo transfers.

The one I had some experience with, and which I recommend, is:

Mount Pleasant Arms (https://www.mparms.com/Ammo-Transfers-_ep_92.html)

If anyone posts LGS info that will accept online orders, can you also post how much $$ they charge for transfer?

I buy guns once a blue moon, but by golly if they can order cz i will buy my next rifle from them to help keep them in business.

The hourly profit on ppt and ammo transfers must suck, even moreso now with bg check.

Yeah, though the restriction to existing customers, referrals by same, and military and LE seems to be recent.

Default FFL in Fremont

I just ordered from Palmetto State Armory and had it shipped to Black Dog Armory https://www.yelp.com/biz/black-dog-armory-fremont. No problems.

Bullseye Bishop charges $50 for up to 5,000 rounds, $40 for each additional 5,000 (rounded up). Thus, if you buy *a lot* of rounds this would work out to be pretty cost-effective at 1 per round.

29 Outdoor Gear in American Canyon (Napa Sonoma area) will transfer online ammo. Although the last time I did it was before the new DROS nonsense went into effect, they did not charge any fees etc. Call or email to confirm.

Small shop and a bunch of real nice guys.
