Default Which one is CCW number on the permit?

I see "ORI", "CII" and Local Agency Number on the permit. Was looking at CCWSafe and a ccw number was required to sign up. So which one should be used?

I used the CII number. The ORI number was the same on mine as my wifes. So I assumed that is the correct one?

The only numbers that differ between my wifes ccw and mine are the CII. The whole layout of the permits are kind of cheap looking. in my opnion they need to be more like drivers licenses. I just took a guess based off that for CCWSafe.

ORI is the code of the agency; you should have seen the same one on your LiveScan request.

As it was explained to me...

The CII number is assigned to you by the California Department of Justice. It stands for "Criminal Identification Index", and is used to record that an individual was fingerprinted. CII is also often called a RAP record (Record of Arrest and Prosecution). If anything, this would be the unique identifier linking you, your license and your record.

ORI = Originating Agency Identifier. ORI's are unique identifier used specifically for LE agencies throughout the US and territories. ORI's identify those agencies that are able to send, receive and send/receive telecommunication messages through the NCIC/NLETS system.

Interesting. Neither the Rice Paper nor the hard Card has either of those on it. Both have a CW-XXXXX as the permit number (X being an actual number).

Wondering how much standardization, other than the rice paper form itself, there really is in the state. Based on the JarHead715s last comment, sounds like there's not much. My hard card is very much like a drivers license type of card.

A lawfully obtained permit for conceal carry being identified with a number from the "Criminal" Identification Index sure doesn't feel right...
